Texas Roadhouse, better chain in area

Texas Roadhouse, Dani Dr., Fort Myers,Fl, Growlings of the tummy. A bit of chatter.  The carnivore waiting room.
A medium rare prime rib entree with steak fries( big fries are so good), and the green beans.

Prime rib here is always great and cooked right. ( note: The best side is given faced up..if you flip it over ...you can see if the cook mess up the scoring.. Does not affect the taste just looks.)
Fries hot and crispy. The side of green beans with bacon crumbled. Simple and delish. Like homemade.
Oh lets not forget the rolls fluffy and hot. Ask for butter to make them more fattening.
Chit chat... If you are a goober... you will like all you can eat peanuts. Be messy throw the shells on the floor.
Personnel are great lots of hello/goodbye have a nice day
My server Kiatanna(?) did a outstanding job.
During busy times call ahead for reservation.  Lunch times seated right away.
Enjoy.

Havana Cuban Pizzeria, south of the border style

Havana Cuban Pizzeria, Pine Island Rd, Cape Coral, Here is chit chat and 2 cents on the food.
I must warn you this is NOT New York or Italian style pizza.
It is south of the border Cuban pizza.
I ordered the Spanish  pizza. Basically a mild crumbled chorizo .
The crust is double the thickness of NY style and is not crispy at all.
Sauce is very mild no basil or oregano or garlic was detected. Cheese ,not sure, I do not think provolone or mozzarella. The topping was very dry for me. But this a SOB style pizza.
Order and folks were great
They had a variety of sandwiches which sounded wonderful. But I will keep with the traditional style pie.

Rallys, Tamiami Trail, Better than McDee's

Rallys, Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, Here is my 2 cents. Saw this two dollar ad on TV. I am from ,the not so golden state of California. I was in the area. I figure 2 bucks for a fry and double cheese burger why not. A choice of drive thru or a walk up window. I walked.
MMM this burger was pretty good ,better than my last forever from( McDee) Fries ok not so bad either. 2 dollars well spent.

El Rinconcito Colombiano, Fabulous food from Colombia

El Rinconcito Colombiano, Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat..
First the food. I got the most expensive item on the menu $18.00 Cazuela de Mariscos, a seafood stew of sorts.

OMG... it was outstanding...It was , I believe in a coconut creamy base with mussels, scallops, shrimp, octopus and other items. I found it perfectly season. No salt or pepper needed. I hate octopus. This was fresh and not rubbery. A delight for the palette. It is served with a side of rice and fried plantains. Both done to perfection.
Chit chat. It is a long ride from Cape Coral. So worth it for good food. It is in a small divey type place. ( see pics ) The folks are nice. When I was there it filled up rapidly with other diners.
I am jealous that such a gem is hidden away from me.
So you go for the Colombian Cuisine and not the atmosphere. But go.

Taco Bell, eh it Taco Bell

Taco Bell, Hancock Bridge Parkway, Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat.
Chit chat. Well I had temporary insanity today. I went in a drive thru, I paid full price and it was not real mexican food.
Alas the service was fast efficient and food hot. Great customer experience.
Now the food. 2 Burrito Supreme. It still tasted pretty much the same. Now you are offered steak and chicken. The burrito is smaller . It use to be you needed two hands to hold. NO longer. The price has risen. (Old price 2.59, in California, now it is 2.99. A BIG price gouge . Less food cost more.
The hottest sauce is called El Diablo or the fictional character, the Devil.
It was a smoky slightly hot sauce . Using a magnifier to read the ingredients no listing of any hot peppers just spices and vinegar. Water was number ingredient.
You can rest ashore my craziness has gone away. Only real local mom and pop eatery will be on my menu.

Hickory Bar-B-Q,good chow

Hickory Bar-B-Q, Old McGregor Blvd, Fort Myers, Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat.
The food... I got a rib platter with 2 sides.
( Just too much pork around here)
Hush Puppies..WOW these were very good.. The size of golf balls and full of flavor. Even cold they were good.
OMG the biscuit I loved. Plus they gave you REAL butter. Excellent touch!!
Now the cole slaw.  Eh.. Creamy chopped fine needs a bit more taste...Not too sweet or sour. Needs work.
The RIBS.. Real ribs for real meateaters. NO phoo phoo baby backs. Good size very meaty. Almost fall off the bone(real carnivore want that  tug). Season fine with just the right smoky taste. Not over powering.
Chi chat.. I hate vinegar base sauce. Even in my hot sauces NOPE... Tomato base sweet and spicy that's for me.
But I had their version of a sweet sauce. Not bad. Needs more sweetness ( brown sugar ,honey or molasses.) plus kick it up with some hot pepper.
My order was quickly delivered. Folks were great. I did not mind the 20+ minute commute for this from The Cape..
Over All very good.

Salty Papas, sooo good

Salty Papa Shrimp House, Mcgregor Blvd, Fort Myers, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat.
Chit Chat.. I went to their Facebook page and used this month special. Basically a shrimp platter for only 9 Bucks. A great deal...Great food.
FOOD... The shrimp were large,(see pic)

fresh, great coating and fried to perfection.Fries were also tasty.I loved the housemade slaw just creamy enough and tangy enough.
Cocktail sauce was good but for me a bit more horseradish was needed.
I got a draft. In a glass ice chilled ice , cold and so refreshing.

The service was quick , attentive and outstanding.
Though a 20+ minute ride from Cape Coral it is so worth the drive.
The menu is varied and delish. ( Catfish- fish and chips!? ;-)...)

Nellys A Taste of Greece, ahhh such a great taste

Nellys a Taste of Greece, Nicholas Pkwy, Cape Coral, Fl., Here is a bit of chit chat and my 2 cents on the food.
Why I have not been here sooner I regret. Meat, baklava and it healthy. First the food. ...Baklava,
Light crispy made with honey and nuts. If you have never had this you do not know what you are missing.
Dolmas... tender grapes leave stuffed with rice and other things soaked with olive oil. Served here

with a greek yogurt cucumber dipping sauce. So good...good for the heart.
The meat is a very tender lamb that beef eaters love. It also served with fresh pita bread and yogurt sauce.
French fries a twist on american style.
For all you stick in the mud floridians YOU must try this cuisine. Flavorable healthy and oh so good.
No hot spicy stuff... just down to earth great food for the body and a soul...if there is such a thing.
Make it a point on your to do list.
Note: Food can be slow to get...but good things come to those who wait...

Jing Du, Cleveland Ave, S., Fort Myers, FL., good sushi buffet

Jing Du, Cleveland Ave., Ft. Myers, FL, Here is some chit chat and my 2 cents on the food.
I am a beef and potato guy. Sometime I like fish bait with the wasabi...
This is a good place for you Sushi fans and chinese buffet folks.
I was impress with all the different sushi offerings. 25 + ...Plus pick and peel shrimp. And mussels galore.

I tried to sample a bit of it all. Hard to do. But fun.
They also have a hibachi and chinese buffet.
This is a Japanese run joint. So the chinese offering is a hit or miss. I was surprise I found the fried chicken wings tasty and moist. ( Most places are bland and dry) The noodles, rice and soup are a bit above par.
The price is above par too...11 Bucks for lunch. Though very much worth it. Nice atmosphere pretty place. LOTS of choices all FRESH and tasty.

Folks are great.
Oh a nice dessert bar healthy and bad for you.   LOL

The Cafe, unadvertised gem

The Cafe, Coralwood Mall, Cape Coral, FL., Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat.
I find the food is fabulous american cuisine. They are best known for their ruben.
They do not advertise .It is done by word of mouth.
This time around I had the french dip meal. Which includes  2 sides. about 7.95

The roast beef was sliced thin and served as it should be medium rare. It roll was fresh and soft.
The au jus was a plenty flavorful, but for me a bit salty. I do not add salt to my food. So this is just my quirkiness.
Cole Slaw. Made in house. The cabbage was fresh and crunchy. Dressing smooth. A bit sweet a bit sour. Oh so good. The best around.
My fries were crisp and hot yet tasting of potatoes.
All items are made on premise. The egg salad in not made until you order it. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. Closing at 2PM.
Service is quick and delightful.... Another hidden gem of the Coma in plain site.
