Cristof's on McGregor

Cristof's on McGregor, McGregor Blvd., Ft. Myers, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
This is a wonderful ole skool Florida house, posing as a great Italian restaurant. I have had this bookmarked for 7 years. They do not advertise. It all word of mouth.
I did not remember why I have not been here sooner.  AAhhh when I got the menu my mind was jostle.
I am a cheap skate. This is a pricey place. Lasagna is $19.00 on the dinner menu.

I was on the lunch menu. I tried a cup of bean soup. $6 bucks. To my surprised it tasted exactly like mine. My entree was jumbo shrimp in a white wine garlic sauce with greens as a side. I got four jumbo shrimp ( what a oxymoron) $14.00 It tasted very good, but I thought the shrimp was a bit over cooked.
I also went for a dessert, Tarisuma , It was good. But for $6 it was small.
The service was excellent. Over all the food was very good. You get what you pay for.
But it was pricey. There are other italian joints with just as good food, bigger portions and cheaper prices.
I am guessing you pay for the ambiance.
A tip. This is located on the corner of McGregor/Royal Palm Square Blvd.   You can make a left turn off of Royal Palm into the large parking lot...If you go to the traffic light you can wait up to 3 minutes then in 15 yards there is the entrance and you are waiting again

There is a large outdoor table area, seating on the porch too.

So if you need great ambiance, good food, good serviceand do not mind paying for it come here.

Thai Nawa

Thai Nawa, Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
This is my favorite place for comfort food, Thai style.

The food is always fresh, looks great & taste great. One of the few joints where you can get it so hot it makes your eyeballs sweat.

I went for the national dish of Pad Thai. Everyone fav. You cannot go wrong. The spicier the better for this entree. Plus some fried dumplings for a appetizer.
Service is always stellar.

A tip on parking. There is one handicapped stall plus other spaces if you use the back door. Per fire regulations this door is always unlocked. Parking can be difficult the food is that good.

Hana Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Lounge

Hana Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Lounge, Hancock Bridge Parkway, W., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.

I was here for lunch. They have what is called Bento box meals. At only 10 bucks a fair deal and wonderful food.

My box was beef teriyaki. You got soup, rice, sushi and fried tofu. As a side I got avocado salad.
I must say the beef was very tender and cooked perfect. The other items were just as fabulous.
I also experimented with a japanese soda. I suggest you past on this. It was very good. But at $2.75 for 9 oz. Not worth your money.
The side salad was healthy and tasty.
Service was excellent. Though the owners, High School daughter ,was doing time on school break. LOL.
So if in the mood for Japanese food give this place a try. Lots of parking.

Starbucks

Starbucks, Chesters St., Cape Coral, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.

Alright Stars is good for service and for other drinks. BUT it is the ABSOLUTE WORST for just a plain cup of coffee.

I have been to 5 different Starbucks using a card for each . I am glad I never used my own money. BUT each place has the most horrible plain cuppa Joe with out exception. 7-11 or even *unkin is better.
Plus it is way over price.

Paradise Deli & Grill

Paradise Deli & Grill, Surfside Blvd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
Check out my photographs.

I decided to go here for breakfast. A good idea. I was able to have a waffle with the bacon inside. HHHMMMM good stuff.
I had house potatoes and eggs over easy.
Plus the coffee was delish.
Over all a grand experience.
Service was good.

First time here for breakfast will not my last.

Cheddars Scratch Kitchen

Cheddars Scratch Kitchen, University Plaza, Ft. Myers, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on just the food.

I did not dine in. I just got 2 meals to go. I order fried chicken and the meat loaf.
First the chix. I was not very impress with the fried chix I got 2 fried chix breast. Though they tasted ok I hate the white meat... As was this the coating was fine but as ALL white meat it was too dried out... I did like the home style green beans. Mash potato were a bit lumpy so you know they made them did here.  The gravy was made with bacon NOT pork sausage. So not very good as far as I am concern.
The meat loaf was interesting. It tasted good with bits of bell pepper inside. There was a 2 ounce container of a sweet/salty with onion sauce. I liked it. I got green beans & mash taters.
Over all good food. It was ready when I return to pick it up.

Connors Steak & Seafood

Connors Steak & Seafood, Gulf Center Drive, Ft. Myers, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
WOW...OUTSTANDING....

The only thing I hate about this place is it is TOO far to drive from Cape Coral.

I was here for a self deserved birthday lunch...

I was served fresh hot bread with a wonderful side of garlic infused olive oil.
I got a medium rare, of course prime rib with a creamed spinach side.
Lets not forget my lobster bisque.
Service was as always top notched. And as a birthday gift...strawberry pound cake and ice cream.

You know this place is GRAND.... empty on my arrival full when I leave.

I HATE CHAINS EATERY...BUT...THIS IS MY ONE EXCEPTION

Burger King

Burger King, Santa Barbara Blvd., Cape Coral, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter

Just another fast food joint. Follows the corporate rules. The food is like everywhere else. You pay for the speed and the extra sodium in the food. I  must say the milkshakes are good.
In a very high traffic area. Will be next to a grocery store that allows you to drink liquor as you shop.

El Mambo

El Mambo, Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my  2 cents on the food and chatter.

Oh,I forgot how good the coffee and food is plus a frugal place.

You go here for the breakfast special, Choice of OJ,cuban coffee, coffee, bacon or ham plus 3 eggs the way you want.Along with toast or cuban bread.
All for like 6 bucks....

WARNING: do not get the waffles....they are just frozen types. Cubans do not know how to make waffles. everything else so far so good.

Service is wonderful... Though this place can get busy.
They have been for over 10 years, They are doing something right.

Note: parking can be tight.

Redfish Point Garden Bar

Redfish Point Garden Bar & Grill, Lafayette St., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and rants/raves.
The rave....
My entree, Shrimp Tequila, 12 shrimp in a Cajun sauce on bed of rice, $14.00 the days special.
This was very good. The shrimp were fresh NOT frozen, Cooked just right. Though for a cajun sauce is was very mild.
Service was excellent.
Now the rant...
The menu stated Florida causal....Though it was very explicit they serve up Iowa beef. I have no issues with Iowa cattle. ...Florida has one THE largest cattle ranches in the USA.
My entree was cooked deli-sh & correctly. I was told it was Argentinian shrimp.
My other observation was it very is pricey. $3.00 for a soda, dessert prices not listed Plus there was NOTHING under $10 bucks, & that's appetizers.
Plus they served my soda in a clear plastic cup.
There is no parking lot just street parking.

Overall my meal was very good. I will be back to try the Iowan beef.   LOL

Table & Tap

Table & Tap, Crescent Loop, Babcock Ranch (Punta Gorda), Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.

I have been wanting to go here for a while. I finally had a chance.

I ordered a beautiful side salad. My entree was Wild Boar Rack, 12 oz. $28 with mash potatoes and veggies.
This was pricy but I never had it before. I was surprise that they ask me how did I want it cooked. Medium rare of course...Anybody who orders above medium is a moron.
It arrived very fast...It was fabulous!! A bit hard to cut but is tasted so good. It came with a bone. I was unsure whether I should start with bone or sliced it. I sliced then kn-awl on the bone. At 28 bucks I want my money worth the hell with manners...In Japan when you eat soup it is proper & expected to slurp the soup..
My veggie, grilled onions with yellow squash and deli-sh yukon gold mash potatoe.

I also sprang for a dessert. My server, Amy (did a outstanding job) read off the list and I just chose the last one. I never heard of it. It was great looking and tasty. My shock was it was 12 bucks...WOW...

Overall this is a great place to go to. Good but expensive food along with nice views of the lake here. Oh yes when you drive here after crossing the quaint bridge, notice NO lines overhead.
ALL power, phone and cables are underground.
Nice place at nite, good for a date, though long 30-40 minutes drive from the Coma.

Citrola's Italian Grill & Pizzeria

Citrola's Italian Grill & Pizzeria, College Pkwy, Ft.Myers,FL., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
Ahhh this is an ole fashion type of Italian eatery.

I got in house made bread with butter, free,as a precursor to my meal of lasagna.
This use to be the standard of ALL restaurant in days gone past.
I have had lasagna in three different places. All within the last 2 weeks.
And basically they really all tasted the same. (just like re fried beans in Mexican eateries).
The difference is the type of meat and noodle inside. So lasagna is like a pizza a personal choice.
I like this one the best. Well, balance enough garlic lots of flavor.

I also spurge and got a pepperoni/mushroom pie. It was a thin crust very good. BUT I thought they were very cheap in adding the mushroom. Not very many.

Service, by Margot was excellent. Staff in general were great.
Note: parking can be tight. The lot is small.

But worth the trip.
