Ahhh B & B Fish 'n Chip

Well a small fish 'n chip eatery with a fish market with reasonable prices.
I order the Fish 'n Chip and was pleasantly suprize. Lets start with the side. Cole Slaw that is made in house. So it is not cookie cutter flavor such as I have found. The same style but a good & unique  flavor. The chips are unique too ,waffle shape, crispy on the outside tasty on inside.
Ahhh the main character. The fish. It was cooked to a crispy brown. The inside flesh was moist and flavor able. Add some malt vinegar and you are off and running to a good meal .The staff were helpful and responsive to my queries.
Plus they will be open on Sundays. Most other places are closed
The have a fresh fish market with reasonable prices. If they do not have it The boat has not returned

Jill's Joint, only game in industrial park

Well I have seen this place advertise for past years. It pointed out breakfast but had lunch and dinner.
I made the mistake of going for lunch and had a sandwich of sort. The breakfast I saw were good looking and well proportional. It felt homey and divey at the same time.
But I am all about the food. In this case I requested a French Dip.
A French Dip with au jus came from the Phillppe Restaurant, 1920's in Los Angeles,Ca..  It thin sliced beef on roll with thin gravy on the side.
THIS WAS NOT.
I will say the onion rings were great. but please
I got a pot roast sandwich on french roll with cheese. Plus a thick gravy on side. If they had told me this is what they meant I would have gotten something. It tasted fine but not what I expected.

Anyway IF you wish to be adventurous, drive to the middle of an industrial park , give the breakfast a try.

German Bakery and More..good food great pasties

I was feeling a bit ethic so I tried the new German eatery .

Nice place wonderful and helpful staff. The place to come for real desserts
But I tried a sandwich first, The Vienna. A Schnitzel (breaded pork loin). on  a french baguette.
It was properly seasoned and tasted good. But I thought the edges were over cooked since they were on the blacken side. The fries were thin and tasty. There was a german meatball used as garnish. It was cold but good with lots of garlic.

Overall a good place. BUT an OUTSTANDING BAKERY, fresh made bread, cream puffs, chocolate eclairs, apple strudels to name a few. So if you are not adventurous

enough for good german food. At least get your sweet tooth a real treat at the bakery.

World Famous Cheesesteak.. I think not!!!!!

Well I was hungry for meat being the carnivore I am.  Saw this ad of World Famous Cheesesteak.
I was suck in and ripped off.
But first the good. The place had 8 or so tables and booths. Most were occupied. I was greeted by all workers. And it was not forced.
They took my order and said it would be 10 minutes..That was true to form .
Anyway the smell of the sandwich filled my car and got me hungry.
But when I opened the box was I disappointed. It was a small sandwich cut in two. Not enough cheese, meat onions peppers.  (See my pics)  to qualify for a Deluxe sandwich. Plus at $7.50 I felt ripped off.  It tasted ok but NEVER MORE.

MMMMM fantastic OKUK Fish & Chips

I have been  anticipating fish &  chips for the pass  2 months. My swim buddy turned me on to  OK UK British Fish & Chips. I was not disappointed. They even have Sarson Malt vinegar. The real deal from England. Created 1791 in London..

I got the King size fish & chips. An inch thick  beer batter Atlantic cod. It was cooked to perfection. Lightly brown on the outside juicy and moist on the inside. It was delished. Along with hand cut chips,( thick cut french fries for you non world travelers). A side roll and coleslaw. Cole slaw was good not great. But you come here for the beer batter fish.

Prices are reasonable for SWFL. It is tucked away in a strip mall. A bit hard to find but when you need a fix of fish & chip worth the trip.

It is not my week for good food

Cajun Bowl.... I have seen the ads for a few months.  It is only 2 miles away or so.
I had high expectations. I love gumbo I make a GREAT GUMBO. I have had outstanding gumbo in Oakland,Ca eatery, and friends grandma recipes. .   BUT

The good first.. Beautiful decor, wonderful folks and a surprising tasty potato salad.

The gumbo..... Wow it was very watery , no roux, not thick bad texture. The taste was overwhelm with too much smokiness . Plenty of sausage though that was good., the rice should have been served on the side or in a cradle. It had a good heat .. It sneaked up on you... Over all thumbs down.

Red beans and rice....NOPE... no flavor just beans mixed with rice. Better taste out of a box.

I hate writing negative reviews but I am for the flavor of the food.

Also 10 bucks for a gumbo and canned tea seems a bit pricey. I was hoping for house sweet tea. I was hoping for better.

Fucking stupid drivers/ Paradise Eatery????

I had food certificates for a unreviewed restaurant in Naples.  I rolled the dice and  I crapped out.
Just getting there is a problem. I took Hwy 75 against my better judgement.  Floridians idiots tailgating  speeding(85+) weaving in out. Plus why do these morons play follow the leader. 10 cars in one lane and only 1 or 2 in the adjacent WOW , inattentiveness.  BAD & STUPID people.

So Paradise to Go. The real name now is Sr. Mireille. A Haitian eatery. I never had Haitian food. But the food I had was ok. ....1 ...of the problems the menu was written ONLY in Haitian. I had the cook/owner? tell me what on the menu. I gambled when I heard beef.. It was a beef tendon of sorts. Along with a black bean rice. And what looked like a plantain.  Looked and tasted OK. Second I gave a 20.00 she had to go out for change. There were tables to sit but its really a to go place.
Food is ok but unless you know Haitian food go on by.

SOOOOOO disappointing Don Anthony Pizza

I think my title reflects the poor judgement of the folks of SW Floridians.

I saw 8 reviews or so with 5 stars on Yelp about Don.. WOW what meds are they on.

I phoned my order in . I was told 45 minutes ,five stars for the delivering EXACTLY on time

Now the food. It was brought to me luke warm. I did not expect super hot but at least better than luke warm.
Lets talk heat. I requested BBQ & HOT wings. The bbq was mild and sweet. Ok thats BBQ.
BUT hot wings is suppose to  be HOT thats why they give a dressing on the side. These wings were a step above catsup.  Terrible.

Now the standard for pizza. Pepperoni & mushroom. The pie had plenty of topping and looked really great.  I thought the crust was a tad under cooked. A bit oily, But hey its pepperoni. The sauce was a plenty. A little too sweet and not enough oregano or garlic.. .
Over all I will be passing on this place.

A screwed up crew

I am really ticked off. It was 3 pm on a Wednesday. NO ONE IN LINE INSIDE.   4 cars in drive thru.

I was very articulate. 1 double (2 fish patties) filet of fish sandwich with EXTRA pickles and a Big Mac. Plus I had BOGO  coupon.
SIMPLE.................
I got my order quickly, really too fast. Drive home. Open my bag and on the fish box extra pickles was noted.
When the box was open NO DOUBLE FILET.  NO EXTRA PICKLES.
Plus my BIG MAC was cold. It was only a 5 minutes ride home. And the cheese was NOT melted.

Please how incompetent can a crew and management be. If it was lunch time rush, yes. This is no excuses.
So from the order taker to the crew you screwed up..

Reuben Smokehouse well deserved 5 stars for food

Hi! folks I was looking for my brisket since coming to SW Florida.  I saw Reuben all over  the web.  People were giving it 5 stars. Since the people here in Florida do not really know good food I was apprehensive .
But lo and behold these folks really knew good food. I was here at lunch 1115 AM on Tuesday
I was started off with a warm roll .....Soft fluffy warm. No need for butter or jam.

I opt for the platter. $19.00....A WHOLE chicken & melt in your mouth beef brisket. My sides were southern style green beans & a cole slaw just wet to dry perfection .
The chicken was bbq just right with tads of burnt skin. A must when you cook on a grill and not in the oven .( Sonny's oven cook their)
The brisket was lean to fat as a brisket should be. Falling apart where you almost may need a spoon. MMMMMMM. They offer  3-4 sauces for your pleasure.. House, Sweet, Carolina( mustard type) and If you are brave enough a ....scott bonnet/pineapple infused sauce that will make you cry with heavenly delight.  Be warned ONLY the REAL mannly type should experiment with this. This is my fav. I like my sauce the way I like my women  HOT & Spicy.   I am sure less than .01% of Floridians can handle this.

They have burger meatloaf and other goodness. A bit for all. Food 5 stars yes. My service was outstanding too.
Cramped parking in front more in the rear.

WWEEELLLLLLLL I am not that Impress, with GO GO Diner, NFM,FL

After 2 years of hearing how great Go Go diner is I was able to go.
But unless you are a corn beef hash aficionado it is just a good diner. Nothing spectacular.

I was there on a Sunday morn. I was surprise as to how small it was. My server Randy was great.
Coffee.... good for coffee.
Corn beef hash is the specialty but I am not a hash type.. A variety of of pancakes, red velvet, chocolate chip blue berries etc.

What is the big deal of red velvet cake and such???? It seems to be all over here.

Anyway. I had the Rebel Rebellion. 3 eggs, your style, 4 thick slices of bacon(mmmmmmm) and the southern staple of biscuit and gravy. All very good ,easier to buy then make for self at home.

Over all a good diner, but outstanding IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII  don't think so.
Would I go back definitely

Olde Fish House Marina, Matlacha, A rave of good food & service

Well this is my first review of the year. I must say its good.

This is a market & eatery. You cannot get it any fresher. It  comes from the ocean to your table.
I had fried mahi mahi. Cooked to a golden brown. With tasty cole slaw, hush puppies and delightful garlic french fries.
My server,Brandon, was outstanding. Very knowledgeable and attentive.
Not a fancy place you are on the water and out doors.  Plates are paper or such. A bit pricey, but all seafood is expensive in Florida. I believe they charge more so the Government can get more tax money. ( There is no income tax in Florida)
Everyone I talk with were great.
My only issue was leaving the parking lot. A bit of a struggle with only a 2 lane road.
Despite this
I highly recommend you give them a try.
