Metro Diner

Metro Diner, Cape Coral Pkwy, E., Cape Coral, Fl. Here my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
My wifey and I decided to have some American comfort food.
So since she has never been here we checked it out.

We shared a appetizer of crab cakes. $6...I was really suprized they fell apart because they were made of lots of crab...very little filling...WOW. Very tasty.

I order the pot roast 12 bucks...A dinner roll, mash taters, carrots with celery. 2 slices of beef.
The beef did not fall apart as others I have tried. Maybe due to early time of day. Plus was not seasoned as well with ie. onions/garlic...A nice sized portion though. ( see pics)
My wife got meatloaf with a roll, grilled zucchini, mash taters and gravy. $12 ( see pic).
I was taken aback when she said it was drier than expected. She  likes things on the dry side. But as far as taste she was able to scoff it all down without giving me a bite. LOL!

Our service was excellent. I will be back.
Note: WiFi is free here and very good.

Keke Breakfast Cafe

Keke Breakfast Cafe, Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral Fl. Here is some chatter and 2 cents on the food.
A big observation on this eatery is the customer service. All the staff is extremely nice. They seem to go out of their way to make sure your stay is very welcoming. Not that this is wrong. It is a bit over the top compare to other restaurants I have been to.

Now the important part the food. I got a waffle, ham steak and over easy eggs. Also some country fried taters.
This food is of very high quality and good portions. It is well prepared. Though more expensive compared to other chains and eateries.

BUT...take note of reading the menu and listening to your server...On a combo plate they offer 1/2 slice ham steak but will up charge you to a full ham steak if not careful. Plus they will offer and charge EXTRA for organic pure Maple syrup for your pancakes or waffle. I personally cannot taste the different, Though at home I buy and use pure Vermont syrup from Coscto.

One other nice but quirky thing is giving my eggs & ham on a long rextangle plate instead of a round or typical plate...( see photograph)

As stated service was stellar.

Nathans Hotdogs

Nathans Hotdogs, Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food.
I was in no mood to struggle with floridians drivers.
So I had bitesquad pick up some burgers for wifey and me. I never had Nathans burger before.
They were delivered still warm in the bags.
1 cheese burger 1 bacon burger, 1 order of fries and 1 order of onion rings.
Well I must say they were not too shabby... Hamburgers from a hotdog joint.
They filled our tummy...Just fast food American style .

Hooked Island Grill

Hooked Island Grill, Pine Island Rd., Matlacha, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.

I am always seeking a good weekend brunch buffet. Hooked Island fills that criteria.
They serve up waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, fresh fruits etc. Pretty much whatever you need in a American breakfast.
Plus a wonderful view of the water. I believe you can tie up your water craft too.
It is a popular place so get there early on Sunday
Priced is reasonable for all you can eat. Service is excellent.

My Sweet Art

My Sweet Art, Nicholas Pkwy., Cape Coral,Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chit chat.

When you dine here...and you dine...just not eat.

The food is fabulous. It taste ...excellent...filling...and does not put a dent in your wallet.

My meal was a good size chunk of quiche lorraine and the always best in the area french onion soup.
The quiche is tasty and so very fluffy. If you are use to salting your eggs as I am...Taste first...You will find it already perfectly seasoned...though a touch of black pepper my be required. A simple fresh salad is included.

The onion soup is served with house made croutons on the side. The cheese is lightly swirled through the soup. When you spoon the broth to your lips it is filled with lots of onions. Caution:the bowel it self will be hot.
Ahh lets not forget dessert...For me a chocolate eclair for later.

Though the eatery is not as romantic as I would like.... it is outstanding

Be aware there are special dinners on the weekends and the Owner offers baking classes.

Sophistication in the wilds of Florida.

Ristorante Fabio

Ristorante Fabio, Hancock Bridge PKWY, N. Ft. Myers, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.

Fabio is a wonderful place. A quaint and can be a romantic getaway in the middle of a strip mall. One of very very few nice things of Florida.
My go to place for my wife craving of Italian food.

We start off with garlic bread though they provide fresh hot bread. So many other places do not do this now.
I got a cup of the soup of the day. Hot, tasty and warming the soul.
My wifey orders the house lasagna and I get veal parmigiana ( real beef not that chicken stuff). Both are wonderful and Italian classic  dishes. So if you seek the perfect Italian meals (unlike the over salty chain restaurants) here is where you come.
Oh yeah leave those rugrats under 18 at home. They will destroy your experience.

Service is attentive and just plain good.

Brookes Restuarant & Lounge

Brookes, Hancock Bridge Pkwy, N. Ft. Myers, FL., Here is my 2 cents on the food.

I ordered via bitesquad. It was delivered quick and hot. My only issued was spilling of the gravy. Stuff happens

I tried the pot roast with garlic bread, green beans mash taters and gravy $12.00
When I picked up the bag it felt heavy...a good sign...
Though the bread was cold it tasted good..
Lots of beef, good sized beans and mash potatoes.
Compared to others in the area great tasting nice sized portion.
A real thumbs up.
I have been here before I will go back.

Moes

Moes, Cape Coral Pkwy, Cape Coral, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food.

I got my food delivered via bitesquad...It was hot and delivered quickly.
I got two simple tacos and a burrito.

THEY WERE THE WORST I HAVE EVER TASTED.
I am from San Francisco,Ca. Home of the modern day burrito.
I paid 13 bucks for this nasty thing. It did not offer refried beans, it was only 7 inches long. improperly rolled, and nasty tasting.
In The City you get a properly rolled, 10 inch sized GREAT tasting burrito for a cheaper price.

I took 3 bites this is what I found...1st..NO hot peppers, though I requested eyeball sweating heat. 2nd...I wanted beef I got what tasted like a canned chili or or those envelopes of making your own short cut stew at home...NASTY... plus lacking of what ever else I requested.
The tacos were just as bad as my burrito. Lacking in flavor.
I have ate here before but never the burrito...Now I know why...
I will never eat here again..
Just wannbe mexican food for Floridians who do not know any better.

Mirone's Italaian Hoagies

Mirone's Italian Hoagies, SW Pine Island, Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food.

I had a sandwich delivered via bitesquad. It was cold and on time.
I got the Italian Hoagie

WOW.. I was surprised when I got my meal.It was delish...The roll was fresh and crunchy. It was 10 inches long.
It was filled to the max of meat and my requested items. So filling I saved half for later..
Got a pasta salad...I was not so impress with that... I am not a fan of cannolis but this was good.

I will be visiting them in the future.

Thirsty Restaurant

Thirsty Restaurant, Vincennes St., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter,

Chatter... Thirsty has been around for 30 years. They just did a redecoration of the place. To be honest I liked the old..The new bare metal motif is not my idea of improvement.

What has not change is the food. fair basic chili...fine fish and chips...fair prices...good service.
If you have not been...you need to try them...

Mcdonald's

Mcdonald's, NE Pine island Rd., Cape Coral, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food.

Well you have seen their pictures...Now see what you really get....

The food still taste the same though!!!

Pho 38

Pho 38, Del Prado Blvd. N., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
I had my food delivered via bitesquad. It was great quick and fast.
I have ate here before...it was fine.

Now my meal... IT WAS THE WORST MEAL EVER in over 750 reviews.
Spring rolls w/shrimp 2- $4.00...The sauce was just water down peanut butter. Only lettuce, bean sprouts and rubbery shrimp. so bad.

Now the meal. I order Pad Thai noodles $8.99 with the following request at additional cost. Bok Choy, Mushrooms, Meatballs, hot peppers.
First there was NO Bok Choy NO Mushroons, No Hot peppers. Just noodles with peanuts on top.
The meatballs were MAYBE 2 were sliced up. They had no flavor and it was not engough to justified the additional $2.50 cost.
I requested my heat level be 7 out of 10...NONE AT ALL...no peppers some nasty maybe hot sauce.

On top of this I only ate a Mcdees egg muffin that day.
I consumed only 7 fork full of this Pad Thai.  Within 1.5 hours I was stuck in the bathroom using a roll of toilet paper....

I ate here a year ago or so and had the pho...it was fine this time it was the WORST.

Cactus

Cactus, Hancock Bridge PKWY, Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
My meal was delivered via bitesquad. It was fast and hot.
I order 2 tacos and a chili rellenois meals.
Unfortunately no one makes fresh fried tacos anymore. The shells are all premade.
Same here but they are passable.
My meal... I will say it was better than most in the area. Fresh hot flour tortillas on the side.
Good flavored rice... a nice avocado topped salad.. Pluse a tasty chili rellenois cooked properly.
Plus they gave me slices of jalapeno and a spicy green salsa. It tasted house made.

Over all a good filling meal.

Amore Italian Market & Bakery

Amore Italian Market and Bakery, SW 46st Pl., Cape Coral, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
I got a slice of lasagna, Italian rice ball, cream puff, & chocolate eclair.
The lasagna was good, but it could use more garlic. The rice ball was fried with ground beef and rice. I was not impress. Not much flavor. I will pass on this in the future.
I was disappointed with the sized of the cream puff and eclair.  They were very small.
I am use to buying a cream puff 5 inches in diameter. The chocolate eclair being 6-7 inches long.
(You can get 6 inch long eclairs at your local P*rkins Restaurants.)
They tasted fine just too small.

Service was fine and attentive.

Dantes Coal Fire Pizza

Dantes Coal Fire Pizza, Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.

First chatter... It was delivered via bitesquad. It was quick and still hot.
Now the pie... I asked for packets of cheese, pepper and napkins. NO napkins, 1 cheese, 1 peppers. I ask for plural of each.
The pie was a 16 inch. $15 ...$2.50 each for pepperoni and mushroom...see my photograph.
Twenty dollars all together.

At Costc* I could have gotten 2 combination 18 inch pies for the same cost.

Plus if you look at Dante pie there were hardly any mushrooms and just enough pepperoni on it.
As far as taste the coal was not that big of deal. The pie was just average at best.

Nope never again.

ArAvita Smoothies,Coffee,and Bubble teas

AraVita, Smoothies, Coffee and Bubble Teas, Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.

This place has just open... They serve smoothies, bubble teas and coffee.
Bubble teas are all the rage in asian countries. They come in a large healthy varieties.
At the bottom and thru out are little orbs of tapioca and other flavors in your drinks.
I have tried quite a few in the past but I am not a big fan.

I tried the coffee here. It was very reasonable priced 16 oz. buck fifty. Smooth and delish.

The staff Brea & Caitlyn  were wonderful.
I will definitely be back for more.
