Clancey's Restaurant

Clancey's Restaurant, McGregor Blvd., Ft. Myers, Fl., Here is my 2 cents and chitchat.
It is a few days before St. Patrick and I wanted ethnic food.
I order Shepard pie... $16.00... A comfort dish. Made from ground beef & lamb with mash potatoes. Plus a side of very plain steam veggies
Since I have never had this, I have nothing to compare.
It was just ok. I am guessing you must grow up with this, to appreciate it.
Just too bland. It was filling. Just no big whoop for me. Veggies no spice what so ever
Service was fine.

Artisan Eatery

Artisan Eatery, Daniels Pkwy, Ft. Myers, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
WARNING!!! This review is longer than my regular one.

First my entree. A Ruben sandwich. I must say it was good.   But for 10 bucks and a 1/2 pickle it better be. No sides. Not worth my 45 minute (11 miles) drive from Cape Coral.

I have had this booked mark for sometime. I was on a quest to find a great bowl of chili in SWFL. (spoiler alert: still looking) I asked a FB group of 11,000 for suggestions.  This is where I was directed to.

On my arrival I found this place to be kinda of self serve. You place the order, get your own drinks, they bring your order to your table.
First thing I ask for was the chili. WRONG... It is a hit or miss item. Strike 2. So I order the most expensive item on the chalk board. $22 short rib entree. I paid and sat down. I read thru a magazine for 15 minutes.
Lo & behold I am then told this item would NOT  be available until dinner.    Strike 3    ;-(
It takes 15 minutes to get a refund. Strike 4

I get my ruben 10 minutes later. I am suprize and disappointed there was no side. For 10 bucks this is too pricey for a sandwich alone.
I did not ask but kinda expected to be given some type of discount or side dish for free.

So I will cross this place off.

Caffe' Toscano

Caffe' Toscano, McGregor Blvd., Ft. Myers, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
Chatter... I have been here for 7 years and have not known about this place.
This is a nice authentic italian place.
I order the Carpaccio di Bresaola. A marinated slice beef. Served tarte.
Very italian, a little pricy.
I have never had this before. It was lite and healthy. Oh yes tasty.
Plus a soup with bread that had olive oil on top.
For dessert a cannoli .

Over all food was delish.A hidden gem of a place in Ft. Myers.

The cannoli... I an not a fan of cannolis...they all taste the same ( just like beans at mexican places). This was fresh it was good but just like other joints.

I must say this can be a romantic place. Just check it out  to see if it meets your needs.
Service was excellent.

Victory Lanes Cafe

Victory Lanes Cafe,  Hancock Bridge Pkwy., N. Fort Myers, Fl. Here is some chatter and my 2 cents on the food.
Chit chat. I have ate here 2-3 times & have been happy with what I got. This time I used Bite *quad for a delivery. Though it took longer than I expected, the food arrived hot.

I got a chicken raceadilla and the beef brisket.
I was impressed that the chicken item was tasty. They even added hot peppers as per my request. The side salsa was a commercial brand. But over all it was what  I expected.

Now my beef brisket. Advertised as bbq & smoked. WRONG...The best part of this entree was the small sliced of garlic bread. But that even had some sauce on it.
The beef was not very, if any properly smoke or even saw a grill. It was on the tad dry side. Not much flavor. The sauce was a commercial brand, *raft or *einz.
The beans tasted like heated cam of Va* De Camp pork & beans. I have had enuff in 30 odd years to know. Plus a small portion of fries which was the best tasting of the meal. Though soggy from the drive.

Over all a mediocre experience on just the food.

California Burrito

California Burrito, Cleveland Ave, Ft. Myers, Fl., Here is my 2 cents & chit chat. If you are from California then this is the best place to get a burrito. Most others here in SWFL are poor imitations. They try though.  ;-(

They have for the most part the correct ingredient. They know how to roll it properly. Plus above all else it taste good.
Service is good.

Saigon Sanwiches

Saigon Sandwiches, Cleveland Ave., Ft. Myers,Fl. Here is my 2 cents and chatter.
I love this place.  The rolls are always fresh, crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. Priced right at about 5 bucks. 10 or so choices.
So much flavor and healthy for you.
Service nice and quick

Monkey Bar Steak & Seafood

Monkey Bar Steak & Seafood, Lafayette St., Cape Coral, Fl.. Here is my 2 cents on the food & chatter.
Why do you go here! for beef.  I got prime rib, medium rare of course, with veggies and hard to find steak fries.
Being a friday I got the house clam chowder. It was delish.
My entree was perfect. Add the au jus plus horseradish and a wonderful meal to behold. Though a birthday party of 15 or so was in the house, My server attended very well.

This place has yet to disappoint me.

Chronic Tacos

Chronic Tacos, 6 Mile Commercial Ct., Ft. Myers, Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
Well here we go with another wannabe taco/burrito place.
I lived 30 odd years in or near San Francisco,Ca. Home of the burrito being born.
I got a pork burrito and rice/beans.
This is one of the very few joints that offers refried beans. ...No real tortillas. ...Just the prefab U get in the grocery store and flour. From my observation NO ONE knows how to roll a burrito.
Guacamole is good but cost extra. No chile verde, tongue or authentic beef for ingredients. I was suprise my al pastor was a bit on the spicy side. I still had to direct the right amount of peppers though.
.I was taken aback to see beer & wine. Lots of TV's and a Modern day JUKE box!!!Service was rough around the edges ,but to be expected. Staff was nice.
Oh yeah lots of handicapped parking IFO of place.
The entrance can be tricky to see.
The food was good. I would come back

From reading the history of this place, I see the family are modern day surfer dudes   ;-)
So this is their interpretation of authentic mexican food. This will work here. Floridians don't know better.
Good Luck.

Subway

Subway, Hancock Bridge Pkwy., Cape Coral, Fl, Here is my 2 cents on the food & chatter
Well I finally succumbed to the advertising and was feeling cheap. So I got 2 foot long sandwiches, Meatball & a spicy Italian, 5 bucks each.
I must say for 5 bucks it was worth it. Though the meatball could have had more garlic it was good. The meatball was a bit messy. So not a picture perfect sandwich. My spicy Italian looked great and was made to my specifications.
The staff was professional, quick and nice.

I still prefer local joints.

Pizza Hut

Pizza Hut, Cape Coral,Fl. Here is chatter and my 2 cents on the food.
I have NOT had pizza from them in 30 years. They were offering half off on line ordering. So I gave it a whirl. It went down hill from there. After figuring out which pie is eligible , trying to get the 50% off and use my credit card, I had to breakdown down and use cash. Then I called the store. NOTE : this was the only good part of the experience. The pie was delivered quickly. The person who I talked to rectify my situation. Total time to order pie. 30 minutes. Cost $9.98 ...this is half price.

The food....Large,thin crust, pepperoni/mushroom. This pie was 2 inches smaller than the pie you get from Cosxto....The crust was like a old tortilla or pita bread. The topping was mediocre at best though it did cover the pie. Over all a terrible pie....NEVER AGAIN PIZZA HUT.

NOTE: Be advise that ANYONE can go to Cosxto...no membership require for the following ...to BUY food, at the food court..(Pizza is $10.00)..Get liquor, use the pharmacy or the Eye Doctor)
