Paradise Pizza

Paradise Pizza, Lafayette Ave., Cape Coral, FL, Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chatter.
Broasted chicken at a pizza joint. I had a single serving meal. About 9 bucks, 4 large/heavy pieces of chicken. fries and coleslaw. It was hot, crunchy tasty....BUT for me waaaayyyyy too salty. I added catsup and salt went away. I must say it was good. An alternative for my Popeye's if needed.
Pressure cooker... thats how this is made. They serve in different sizes. Cole slaw was fine . Fries too.
Tip... if you like your fries crunchy...cole slaw cold.. Then you MUST  eat it at the pizza joint otherwise it all goes sideways.
Oh yes I really enjoy the pizza here.

Texas Roadhouse

Texas Roadhouse, Dani Dr., FT. Myers,FL. Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
I went a different route this time. I order a medium rare 6  oz. top sirloin, green beans and mashed potatoes. 9 bucks. Bad choice. I usually always get prime ribs,
Ole the rolls are still delish. The greens beans were up to par. But everything nope.
They happen to drop and spill all of the mash taters, OK accidents happen. I can wait, they use real taters. The meat, so small and so chewy, mm  mm mm. It was cooked proper. Never more.  I got my mash taters. It was more like smashed peeled taters but chucks of potatoes not mashed. The brown gravy had to be better made.
Service was fine but this time around not a good meal

Ok Uk Fish & Chips

OK UK Fish & Chips, N. Cleveland Ave., North Fort Myers, FL. Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat. Kings order ( 1/2 pound atlantic cod) of fish and chips.Along with gourmet malt vinegar from merry ole England.
Always hot, crispy and flaky fish. Outstanding stuff. Plus you get steak sized french fries.(chips)
If you desire authentic English fish and chips, this is one of only two in the area worth going for to fill the belly. The other is in the Cape.
Do not waste your tastebuds ,time or money going to the all you can eat fish fry. Come here and get the real deal. You will not regret it. If you have a sophisticated pallette take it from a basically carnivore.
Tip... DO NOT ....DO NOT... Have it to go... It will steam inside the bag and RUIN the crispy texture of the meal. Sit down and enjoy.
Service is great.

Blue Dog Bar & Grill

Blue Dog Bar & Grill, Matlacha, FL., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chit chat.
First chit chat. My M.O. is to go at lunch time when the eateries just open to evaluate the food. 95% of the time its only me or 1-2 others tables. BUT this place was different. There was 5-6 tables plus me filled. Why I do not know!!

The food. I had a cup chowder $5  and a mahi mahi with black beans and rice $20 bucks. First the chowder. It was not clam chowder.. It tasted different. Lots of seafood of which I could not identify.
It was ok but not too thrilling overall. Snow Clam chowder is better.
The mahi mahi.  Never had it before... never again. It is just not worth the money.(20 bucks ) I will spend my coinage on beef. The black beans had no flavor. ( My wifey is from Brasil, they make black beans, I know black beans.) The yellow rice, no flavor at all. Mahi mahi tasted ok. The mango chutney actually gave it a kick. Not enough chutney. But really for the portion size and lack of flavor never again.
Still not sure why all the people. After I got home I was hungry again. Never More.
Service was excellent over all.

Che Tito's Steakhouse

Che Tito's Steakhouse, N. Cleveland Ave., N. Fort Myers, FL., A grumbling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food and chit chat. The food. A Baby Churrascos , rice, salad and rolls. 12 bucks or so. MMMM medium rare steak cooked to perfection. simple rice, a nice cold salad and hot fluffy rolls.
This is a true carnivore delight. Finally a carnivore  eatery in North Fort Myers. Another outstanding restaurant. Though not americanize it BEEF... Argentinians do beef so well.
Plus I am sick of eating pig here.
This is for dining. NOT grab and dash food. Cloth table napkins & a large wine selection. Also FREE WI-FI with the password... 8 TVs for sports nutz... OH YES this is the first time , I have seen this in SWFL, at every table there is 1 plug and 2 (two) UBS Ports !!!!! So techie nerds enjoy.
Service was great . My blonde Argentinian waitress with bright smile, Guadalupe was  excellent

Pho Plus, Ft, Myers

Pho Plus, Metro Parkway, Ft. Myers, Fl., A grumbling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food and chi chat.
The food. AAHHH the food.. This is a place for filling the belly, being a carnivore, easy on the wallet and healthy for your body. Plus a bonus of hot and spicy.... I love my food like I love my women...Hot & Spicy... If it does not make you sweat it is not worth eating...MMMMMMM.
A big bowl of long simmering broth ,with rice noodles, then add your choice of meat, seafood, or tofu. Then a wide choice of condiments bean sprouts, Pepper, basil etc. Then add a large bit of pepper oil. Make that brow sweat deliciously.  BIG on flavor easy on the coinage. Service is outstanding.
Oh yes lets not forget a large Thai Ice tea, sweet and cold so good.
Please give it a try....DO NOT BE SHY, about having them explain on how to try this wonderful healthy meal. Tchau

CKFM Lunch to go

CKFM Lunch to Go, Metro Parkway, Ft. Myers, Fl., A growling in my tummy and 2 cents on the food. Chatter first. This is a hole in the wall, that accepts cash only (ATM on site), no tables, food to go. That being said, wow , the food was excellent. I had a pork ragu in a wine sauce served over rice. I had a choice of noodles or rice. I must say it was so much better fare than other sit down more pricy joints. They had a good choice of different items. It was all to go. A very upscale menu .
So if you are sick of fast food burgers and taco, plus enjoy a sophisticated palette please give them a try. My entree was great. All for under 9 bucks.

Kings Kitchen

Kings Kitchen, W. First St., Ft. Myers, Fl., A growling in my tummy and 2 cents on the food. plus chatter. The Food. I order a mojo (pork) type sandwich with onions on the roll and mash taters/ gravy. First they were skimpy on the onion.  The rolls were fresh pork was fine except it did not tantalize the taste buds. Very midwestern and mediocre. I was served pork gravy on the potato. Very plain. The entree was 10 bucks or so.
Truly a waste of my dollars and filling my appetite.
The atmosphere was edgy with what is called a industrial decor . I was expecting better and innovative cuisine.
Service was very good overall though. Not sure if I will return.

Mels Diner

Mel's Diner, Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral Fl.,  A growling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food and some chatter. The food. I was feeling peckish and had a $10 gift certificate. I got the all you can devour fish fry. They do give you all you can chow down. If you like it that much... it may be worth it.  My chowder was fine and the cole slaw okay. The fish fry was crispy and hot. Now the flavor... well it  is good enough if you are a midwestern raise, a retiree  or a floridian who has no sophistication of the world. Which accounts for 95% of the patrons here. Its not bad just not outstanding.
Service was good and everything just fine. I will just order another item next time.

Bob Evans

Bob Evans, Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, FL., A growling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food and chatter. The food. Chicken fried steak and mash potatoes/gravy. This is another basic midwestern meal. They do it so well. Simple hearty and so good. This is a comfort food. So far they follow the KISS  method. K.eep I.t S.imple S.tupid. Meat has flavor cooked well with heavy gravy. Fills the belly and tantalize the taste buds. OH my the dinner rolls are to die for.
Service was quick prices fair.

Summerlin Jake's Seafood and Steak

Summerlin Jake's Seafood and Steak, Harbour Dr., FT. Myers, FL. Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter. The food. Seafood and sausage gumbo.  I know how to make gumbo. Everyone has a slightly different way of doing this entree. Here its a bit of fish, shrimp, smoked sausage and okra. It is not bad just not 5 stars. It a bit too smokey which overwhelms the seafood, and I like chicken in mine. ( Slates in the Cape Is better) Plus it is not at all spicy. They do offer the typical hot sauce of Tabasco. Thats has too much vinegar for me.
But for floridians it pass the taste test.
Service was outstanding. This would be a great place to take a date. Nice views.  Though it is a bit pricey.
