Golden Corral

Golden Coral, Andalusia Ave., Cape Coral, FL., A growling in my tummy and 2 cents on the food plus chatter. This is a buffet that you either love or hate. Just like politics. You got veggies for the weirdo veg heads, meats for the carnivores and desserts for the sweet tooth junkies. Breakfast, lunch and supper deciding on your slant of the moment. You are sure to find the  meal that makes you happy. For me it was green beans , bacon, fried shrimp, baked fish a green salad, fried chicken, chocolate pudding, cheese cake, mash potatoes plus beef gravy, carrot cake, scramble eggs french toast to name a few.
It is always best to get here early things are fresh and hot .Plenty of choices servers not tire from being brow beaten from moronic public folks.
I get here early and I have been served very well food is great.
So come get bacon and eggs or a salad with green bean cooked with bacon and onions.

Los Panes Bakery

Los Panes Bakery, Del Prado Blvd., S., Cape Coral, FL., A growling in my tummy and some chatter.
FOOD. This is a Columbia bakery and eatery. I have never had any columbia fare ever.. So I picked out  2 empanada, a loaf of cheese bread, a semi sweet cherry pastry and a entree of beef, pork and chicken on top of fried plantains. (Patacon De Carne Y Pollo)
The cheese bread, a large loaf of bread ,very moist and cheesy, to be eaten with hot cocoa or coffee. It was very good. The beef/potato empanada not so bad. The cherry pastry was light fluffy and not too sweet. I wished it was more sweeter.
Patacon De Carne Y Pollo, was a fried mixture of 3 meats on top of fried plantains. A dipping sauce that sorta looks like 1000 dressing but is not was provided.
I loved the cheese bread and cherry pastry. The Patacon De Carne Y Pollo. I am up in the air. It was good. But I like my food strong and robust. This was not for me. I am positive it will meet the needs of the typical floridian carnivore.
They have been here for 10 years so they must be doing something right   <a href="https://www.zomato.com/fort-myers/los-panes-bakery-cape-coral" title="View Menu, Reviews, Photos & Information about Los Panes Bakery, Cape Coral and other Restaurants in Fort Myers" target="_blank"><img alt="Los Panes Bakery Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato" src="https://www.zomato.com/logo/17362748/biglogo" style="border:none;width:104px;height:34px;padding:0px;" /></a>

Prices fair service was good.

Hart and Soul Cafe

The Hart and Soul Cafe, Del Prado Ave, S., Cape Carol, FL, Here s my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat.. The food. The good ,was great coffee locally roasted and eggs perfectly over easy.
Ahh my waffle . It was was a bit under cooked. Not brown enough. The potatos and the bacon way overcooked. Bacon to the point of burnt . The taters same issue. I was a unhappy trooper.
Tip: I got here at 1045 AM. No lunch is served until 1130 AM.  I was disappointed.
Service was fine place very clean.
Parking is horrendous. Until 1100 AM... A gym is nearby
I would definitely give it another try.

Thirsty's

Thirsty's,Vincennes St., Cape Coral, FL. A growling in my tummy and some chatter. FOOD.
OBA OBA!!!! I found good fried chicken + steak fries. OBA OBA ! At a reasonable price.
Beside a chain I have now fried chicken at a local restaurant. . Crispy on outside and moist inside. Plus meaty steak fries the kind a real MAN  eats. Not thin wimpy stuff from mcdee's. Along with very good cole slaw. Plus a serving of clam chowder.
(Note: they switch week to week from Manhattan Chowder to regular chowder. So call ahead....)
An  excellent server, Tina.
Oh yeah lets not forgot REAL in house cooked chocolate pudding.

Olde Fish House Marina

Olde Fish House Marina, Matlacha, Fl. A growling in my tummy and some chatter.
FOOD... Oh my the food was great. I started with a housemade sweet tea. Just enough sugar. Then a cup of Manhattan Clam Chowder. Tomatoe based loaded with clams and potatoe. Seasoned properly no salt needed. Fried to perfection onion rings. With good old fashion in house cole slaw. Then never had before hogfish. Cooked creole blacken style. It could have been a bit more spicy but we are in florida. It was blacken on the outside and moist on the inside. Very flavorful. Service was excellent.

This is located on the water. If you desire fish for later on there is a seafood place on premise.
One of my best meals in recent history.

The River Station Deli

The River Station Deli, Palm Ave, North Fort Myers, FL A growling in my tummy and some chatter.
Food. I order a Italian sub with a side of house made potatoe salad.. Well folks the salad just suck. It was potato, mayo and bits of celery. NO spices no nothing. Just too much mayo. Plus not a big serving. My sandwich. I wanted spicy. The only thing spicy was some pepperoni. On a sad very white bread roll. Some meat provolone and some grassy looking stuff. All for 8 bucks.
Never again.

La Corte Courtyard Garden Bistro

La Corte Courtyard Garden Bistro, Lafayette St., Cape Coral, Fl. A growling in my tummy and chatter.
CHATTER...I was expecting superior food . I got zilch. 2 stars out of 5 stars, Pretentious.

First my server did a excellent job,Nicole. Nothing wrong here.

Food. Only 3 entrees listed at the lunch time menu.. burger,$19 with extras at additional charge. A Brie on sourdough bread,$13.. NOT from the city that defines sourdough bread( San Francisco), And a quiche of the day. $13
OH yeah NO  quiche.......
Soda for 2.79 but refills included.
I got a seafood  soup, 8 bucks. It did have a bit of chunks of fish, one medium size shrimp which I needed to use my fingers to  dig out and eat( tail still on) Taste ,NO.  even after adding fresh grind pepper. I got a bigger and better portion from Progresso soups.
A Caesar salad, 11 BUCKS. First it was not properly chilled. Then NOT properly made. This is supposedly made at the table with raw eggs.. With the anchovies mix inside . WRONG  I like a lot of dressing but even for me it was too much. It was drowning in a dressing.
So about 25 of hard earned dollars  down the drain not including tip.
Nicole was the best part of the experience.
Such a pretentious place. I expected on the first day of opening, per news article. It would be 5 stars.
I was so WRONG.
Note there was a Rolls Royce parked in front.  LOL

Mexico Lindo Restuarant

Mexico Lindo Restaurant, Del Prado Blvd., S., Cape Coral, FL., A growling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food and chatter.
Lets talk food. The chips were fresh out of a vendor bag.  Too uniform..The salsa, mmmm... When it is homemade there are usually 3... mild, spicy tomatillos, and red spicy. This tasted bottle made... bland for floridians.
I always go for the chili rellenos.  Refried beans, rice and guacamole.  It was just a average dish. Nothing special . The kind you find in most eateries. This was not a grandmother dish. If so they have diluted the uniqueness of it.
8 bucks for a no name Tequila Sunrise. Plus I did not have the joy of the swirl for my sunrise.   This is robbery. But this seems to be a common practice in Florida. I guess we pay for those commercial on TV.

Observations. The staff and Sheila, my server did an outstanding job. Place was very new bright and gaudy as is the nature of the mexico culture. Quality of food was fine. But really an 8 page menu.Too much. Too many american dishes, burrito, chimichanga etc.  (Both were create in 1950's in San Francisco, Ca. in the Mission District) How do I know??? I cook and I am foodie for over 30 years in the San Francisco Bay Area.

nevermind

Nevermind Awesome Bar & Eatery, Cape Coral Parkway, Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat.... A bit of chit chat first... This is a bar first (no smoking when I was there) and a eatery 2nd. It was very dark. Now the chow...WOW... if there was a heaven...but there is no heaven.. but if so this is the hamburger that would be served... Its pricey at fifteen bucks. My angus beef patty was cooked to a perfect medium rare, cheese melted gooey, and place between butter grilled/toasted slices of bread. Sliced in half, then put on it side into a tomato paste base with a coffee espresso tongue wagging sauce. There was no need for ketchup, mustard, salt or pepper or any other condiments. It was outstanding & a tad messy so lip smacking good. ....Served along side were thinly sliced fries. I hate thin french fries. AHHH again a party for my mouth. The fries (similar in cutting like steak and shake) These were coated with hand grated parmesan cheese along with sprinkling of a truffle oil. MMMM good

Chit chat.. the cheapest item on the menu is 12 bucks. Though claiming to be a full bar there was no brandy or cachaca available. It is very dark inside. Service can be slow but efficient. 4 parking spaces in front ...3 in rear along with 1 disable.  A parking lot was 30-40 yards behind the joint .So if great food is on your mind this is the place to make a special trip . Put this on your bucket list

Perk and brew

Perk & Brew, Cape Coral Parkway, Cape Coral, Fl, A growling in my tummy and some chatter.
Forgot I had some Group on tix. Went  back to give a taste.   MMM good the big meat ball in the bread bowl, Topped with cheese. Still worth chowing down.... Had a tasty sweet tea to wash it down.
Glad to see a local place still up and running. Good place to meet for coffee or such. Keep up the excellent work.
