Seven Oaks Wood Fire Cuisine, Miramar St, Cape Coral, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food and chit chat.. I am a frugal person and this has been booked mark for a long time. This time I threw caution to the wind and got the most pricey item... 8 oz. filet mignon, steamed carrot/ broccolini, smash potato with garlic and chives. $30 bucks.
( see my Pic )
Broccolini is a cousin of broccoli. Same flavor just not as intense. Carrots just young carrots. Smash potatoes just some cheese fresh garlic and chives These items were good but not outstanding. I order my beef medium rare as always. It was seasoned fine, a crust on the outside . But over cooked. It was medium. Medium rare should be a bit bloody and a cool center. This was not. I waited 20 minutes for my meal. I did not want to wait any longer for another steak.
For this much money I should get at lease fresh bread or breadsticks. I should not have to pay 8-15 dollars on a appetizers. I have been to other eatery's which cost much less and got free bread or rolls. Why has this tradition gone away??? At these prices they should do it. This is a nuvo artsy fartsy type of cuisine.. Which is fine if you prefer to be pretences instead of down to earth and real.
I will come back and try the pizza. From what I understand they do not have take out. What kind of place that does NOT have take out pizza??!!!
Note: I did not really need or want it it. BUT NO salt or pepper on my table???
This was a glorious California type day. 72 degrees Sunny NO humidity Wonderful. 115 PM.
I sat outside on the patio. The staff I must say was OUTSTANDING. Everyone seemed to come by and make inquiries of my situation.
So in conclusion I would rather have just plain great food at a cheaper price and forego the wack a doo of over customer service.
