New England Mooring

New England Mooring, SE 16th Place, Cape Coral, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
Chatter, I have been here many times. ( unfortunately not open for lunch , I would be here more often)...They have yet to disappoint me. This time around , I am here with my wifey. A new thing here is the Echo. The modern day version of the juke box. But you pay no money and speak of the  singer you want to hear.......In a place that is in a time warp for the 70's Floridians.

The food and extras they give me, We share fried zucchini plus given some fried garlic bread, excellent.  I had a special of shark and angel hair pasta with garlic sauce. My wife the Trio, shrimp, grilled scallops and Maryland crab cakes . As always they  met and exceeded my expectations. Of course the Irish cannoli's and free Amaretto drinks. A wonderful dessert drink.
Two things were substandard, the cole slaw, no big whoop plus the AC was lacking. Though a fan was directed my way.
Overall outstanding service and food.
A must try place.

Cape Cabaret, Vincennes Blvd., Cape Coral

Cape Cabaret, Vincennes Blvd. Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
This is not just a eatery. It is a nightclub with live entertainment. The chow is good too.
We had a spinach artichoke appetizer, comfort food of meat loaf and a pot roast. With garlic smashed potatoes and green beans.
Overall it was delish. The taters could use more garlic. ( Note: There are folks who are allergic to garlic. I feel for them.) Green bean cooked to just  crunchy. The meatloaf and pot roast was almost as good as mine. A nice rich in flavor gravy.
Service was stellar.
I will definitely be back.

Mcdonalds, Colonial Blvd., Ft. Myers,Fl

Mcdonalds, Colonial Blvd. Ft Myers., Here is my 2 cents on the food and service. I thought only in the Cape, Mcdees was bad. Nope . I find pretty much they are bad. Bad service and cold items. I had a coupon for BOGO  breakfast bacon, cheese ,egg biscuit.
Drive thru was quick my breakfast was cold. I took a bite as I drove away. It was sitting under heat lamps. In the olden days food was quick, fresh and hot. No longer.
Sad state of affairs.

Ariani

Ariani,SE 15th Ter.,Cape Coral., Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter. I have been wanting to go here for a while. I expected 5 stars for the food. I was not so impress.
Our order, 10 bucks for a martini, :-(  ...  Hot bread, Snails as appetizer, Beef Wellington, Tilapia,  cheesecake dessert.
Ahhh fresh hot bread...Disappearing from so many places.
Snails, never had them... never again. They tasted ok except for the texture. The cream sauce was bland needed garlic or something. Not worth the money.
Tilapia, in a baked crust, with cream spinach and a lobster pasta.Cooked just moist. Lobster pasta good flavor, bits of lobster... My wifey enjoyed this. I thought They could have done better in flavor.

Now the biggie. Beef Wellington, medium rare, in a flakey crust filled with a mushroom sauce.
I found this out about myself. I like steaks just by themselves. When inside a crust or covered with a marinate it in not for me. Same for this. Though cooked right just a waste of money. I have had a beef stew with more pizzazz.  Mash potato and cream spinach were tasty. 25 bucks for a lesson learned.
The dessert, cheese cake. Sugar and chocolate what not to love.
Service was good very accommodating...
I am not sure I would return?????

The Cafe Restaurant

The Cafe Restaurant, Coralwood Mall, Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chit chat.
This has to be one of the best cafe for breakfast/lunch in the The Cape.
The food. A reuben sandwich and the Greek spinach pie. I love the reuben sandwich, a bit of fat, flavor and real seeded rye bread. Flaky phyllo crust with spinach and full of flavor.
Service is always up to par. Prices are reasonable
Oh yes let's not forget the mushroom soup. Chunks of real mushrooms.

El Patio

El Patio, Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is a bit of chit chat and my 2 cents on the food.
This place has been here for a while. It is under new management.
I have never experience peruvian food. The folks here walked me thru it.
Drink, Purple corn drink. Something you need to acquire a taste for. It purple and has a taste of cinnamon in it. Ok... I would try it again.
Coffee, good strong robust.
Ceviche... This is what Peru is known for. Seafood that is raw and cooked with a acid of different juices. I found I like it. I like the different seafood, (BUT hate squid or octopus. I hate this no matter how it is prepared.) Shrimp, scallops, fish , mussels etc are fine. Good flavor.
The appetizer is a meal by itself. I got the house ceviche. 14 bucks.
They offer $7 & $10 meals for lunch.
I got the lunch paella 10 bucks.  A good paella. I needed to take it home.
Folks were super friendly and helpful. Gave me a insight on peruvian cuisine.. Lots of corn and spicy sauces . Loved it.
So they are across from the Hospital in the Cape if you are in the area give them a try.

Dickey's BBQ

Dickey's BBQ, Dani Dr., Ft. Myers, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
Chit chat... Ahhh finally a place that serves REAL bbq. BBQ Brisket.

The food. I got a brisket dinner, with beans, cole slaw and a roll. Also some ribs.
The best part for me is the REAL Texas style bbq sauce. HOT and sweet at the same time. Not this wimpy thin sour stuff that is called a sauce around these parts.
The brisket is fall apart with a thin layer of fat. Oh so good flavor. Of course hot/sweet sauce to be added.  Be sure you get it sliced, great for a white bread sandwich. The beans and coleslaw are good for a chain. Loved the rolls.
My partner loved the ribs. Dry rub was good.
Service was quick and attentive.
If in a hurry you can order online and schedule your pickup.
