Bob Evans, a good chain eatery

Bob Evans, Pine island Rd, Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food, chit chat and some random thoughts. First the food. I had thier signature pot roast dinner

. Beef, carrots, onions, mash potatoe and gravy. It was fabulous! Almost as good as mine or my mothers. Lots beef great texture and a savory gravy. It was about $11 bucks.
3 days ago I ate at a italian joint. This meal cost me  1/3 of a filet mignon entree at a nuvo italian place
And this was much better. Plus at Bob Evan I was given free biscuits or rolls fresh out of the oven.

No such thing at the italian joint. $8-$15 for a appetizer.

The parking lot was almost full. Which means provide good food at reasonable prices and folks will come.
My server Leslie did a great job.
I will be back again.

Starbucks, it has been 10 years, I can wait 10 years more

Starbucks, Santa Barbara Blvd,Target, Cape Coral, FL. Here is my 2 cents, chit chat and random thoughts. It has been 10 years since I was in a Starbucks. That was at San Francisco International Airport working as a TSA agent.. Airports alway very pricey, NO breaks for the working man.

I was here because I was up early for a flea market excursion and I was given a 15 dollar gift card.
Coffee, a tall as they like to call it, plus an espresso shot $.80...$2.45 $3 bucks or so.
The mix was a Pikes Peak. NOPE no good I hated it. (At 7-11 I get a 16oz brasilian type much better and cheaper.)
I also peruse the pastries, too small overpriced.

They only had 1 person working. She was great personable and patient with me. But they should have at least 2 people working at all times. After my order it got real busy.
Over all a good experience but I will use up my card and then wait another 20 years.

Sandpiper Plumbing, leaves you flush with cash

Sandpiper Plumbing, I have used his services twice. First for a garbage disposal and 2nd for replacing toilets. Mark does an outstanding job. He is professional, prompt and courteous. He gives you a fair and reasonable quote. He stands behind his work. When you are on a strict budget he does his best to accommodate the situation.
I highly recommend him.

Cass Cay Bar and Restaurant, good local joint

Cass Cay Bar and Restaurant,Punta Gorda, a marina. Here is my 2 cents on my meal and some chit chat. I had their version of fish and chips. How was it different? with a tempura coating. It light flaky with a delicate flavor. Add their own cole slaw and some unique french fries.
You got a great meal.
Here is the chit chat and other reason to go here.
It is located in the queentisel  type of Florida retirement living. It is in a gated marina. It is easy to enter just tell the Security Officer where you are going and get a pass. Upon passing the raised gate you see bike paths, hikers and tons of golf carts There is many different sizes and shapes of housing for the senior set.. 1 bed 1 car garage, 4 story townhomes regular type homes etc. The eatery is about 1 mile away on the marina. A beautiful scene. Plus I noticed a gated community inside this gated community. The restaurant is well designed.
There is also a large tree growing in the middle of the place. Cute. Next store a shopping post.
So if interested in some good food good scenery of Florida retirement lifestyle and need a place to boat and live give it a try.

Seven Oaks Wood Fire Cuisine, I could have waited longer

Seven Oaks Wood Fire Cuisine, Miramar St, Cape Coral, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food and chit chat.. I am a frugal person and this has been booked mark for a long time. This time I threw caution to the wind and got the most pricey item... 8 oz. filet mignon, steamed carrot/ broccolini, smash potato with garlic and chives. $30 bucks.
( see my Pic )
Broccolini is a cousin of broccoli. Same flavor just not as intense. Carrots just young carrots. Smash potatoes just some cheese fresh garlic and chives These items were good but not outstanding. I order my beef medium rare as always. It was seasoned fine, a crust on the outside . But over cooked. It was medium. Medium rare should be a bit bloody and a cool center. This was not. I waited 20 minutes for my meal. I did not want to wait any longer for another steak.
For this much money I should get at lease fresh bread or breadsticks. I should not have to pay 8-15 dollars on a appetizers. I have been to other eatery's which cost much less and got free bread or rolls. Why has this tradition gone away??? At these prices they should do it. This is a nuvo artsy fartsy type of cuisine.. Which is fine if you prefer to be pretences instead of down to earth and real.
I will come back and try the pizza. From what I understand they do not have take out. What kind of place that does NOT have take out pizza??!!!
Note: I did not really need or want it it. BUT NO salt or pepper on my table???

This was a glorious California type day. 72 degrees  Sunny NO humidity Wonderful. 115 PM.
I sat outside on the patio. The staff I must say was OUTSTANDING. Everyone seemed to come by and make inquiries of my situation.

So in conclusion I would rather have just plain great food at a cheaper price and forego the wack a doo of over customer service.

Sonic Drive In, Typical fast food

Sonic Drive Thru, Pine Island Rd, North Fort Myers, Here is my 2 cents and some chit chat.  It was President day . So $1 for chili dog or hotdog. Good deal, BUT WOW these dogs are terribly salty

. Tasted ok but almost like licking a salt block. You need water after every dog.
I did it the lazy way, floridian way too fat too stupid and stayed in my car and went thru the drive thru. I never use the drive thru it is always too slow.
Ah in this case with 3 cars ahead of me it was pretty quick. Folks nice efficient. Thumbs up.

Mcdonald's, typical fast food

McDees on Del Prado, S, Near the super walmart, Cape Coral, Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chi chat. I visit fast food joints maybe once a year. And only when there is a special deal or coupons involved. This case buy one get second for a penny.
I splurge this time. I got a vanilla shake. It has to be 10 years since I got a shake here. I was delighted. They had added malt to the mixed. It was very good.
Now my egg muffin.

Yep it was ok but it was cold. You pay for the speed. These are 3.49 each. If I bought 3 of these, I could get the ingredients and do it at home.
Service was fine folks did good job.
