City Fish Market, Good food, Not for the chic

Here is my 2 cents. The food is great. I had Pangasius dinner.
It is similar to cod and just as tasty. The fish was fried to perfection. Crispy on the outside moist on inside. The hushpuppies were delish. Fries aaa just fries.  They make their own sweet tea. Good not great. Over all a outstanding meal.

Now chit chat. It is located in the old part of Fort Myers. It has been here for 40 + years. Its a fish market. Expect some flies. It is mostly to go. 1 table. No a/c. Not for the chic or foo foo designer nose in  the air people. Just good down to earth food. I was told if you buy (frog legs or alligator) they will cook it for you.  It not on the menu.So when in the need for salt of the earth real working folks food.
You must come here. A great meal or sandwich awaits.

Naulti Parrot and Tiki Hut, Good food suprizing interesting eatery

First here is my 2 cents on the food.
I got a brandy & coke. 2.50. good but a lime for a garnish!? I request a sweet tea.. It was peach flavor with a touch of lemon. It was good... I am open to trying new things. It needs to be stronger..... Now the main entree...
I order the fish and chips. No malt vinegar was offered.  Not chips french fries. Standard type hot fine. The fish was fried to perfection .I liked it.
The tartar sauce was advertise as a lime flavor. It was. It was good but different. Thumbs up. Cole slaw standard fare no big whoop. Over all a good meal.

Now some chit chat. I was there on a monday at noon time. Upon entering ,the place seemed empty. As I went to the rear, near the waterway, it was a different story. It open up to a tall thatched tiki hut. A ceiling fan that was 10 feet across twirling. The biggest I have ever seen. 12-14 TV's. With reggae and country music playing. There were 8-10 tables filled with customers. All the boat slips were filled. It was the most lively place I have been to in many moons. There was 2 bartenders and 1 waitress, Michelle . Michelle did an outstanding job. Bright friendly efficient. My only 2 issues was the smell of a cigarette and no A/C. A/C was on me.  But over all an excellent time. Do stop on in.

Texas Road House, For the meat eater

Here is my 2 cents, This is the 2nd time eating here. It beef's ....it is all good. No menu this time. I saw a 20 ounce boneless ribeye in the glass case.
That was mine. As usual there was all you can eat hot honey flavored rolls with butter. Plus peanuts galore.... make a mess on the floor. I splurged and got a Tequila Sunrise.
( wow 6 bucks for a named brand tequila.. I paid 95 cents for my first sunrise at Lacklind ,AFB, Texas, way back when,1975) I added mushrooms on top of the  steak and of course it must be medium rare. The cook obliged and did the job right. It was delish and tender.Green beans with bacon/onions.... tasty. Plus a baked potato with all the fixings :cheese, bacon, sour cream and of course extra butter. The tater was cooked to perfection hot fluffy. ( eat the skins for the vitamins folks).  Of course being long in the tooth I had to get a doggie bag for the rest of my ribeye. ( I am no longer a spring chicken) But take it home slap it between two slices of white bread ... a 2nd meal.

The service and folks were stellar. I was there at  1105 AM on Memorial Day. Food came quick. Lots of attention. The place filled up fast.

Great Job.

Chipotle, ripping off the ignorant.

Here is my 2 cents on the food. I lived in San Francisco , Ca. for 30 years . Birth place of the burrito.
I know burrito's. This is a wannbe burrito.  What self respecting mexican citizen would even offer tofu??? And not beef tongue??? I digress.
The steak burrito just suck. I was told it was the most spicy.  WRONG it had the most cumin. The steak was a bit rubbery. Only pinto beans or black beans offered. NO refried beans....White or brown rice. WOW too much rice /beans and hardly any meat.
I measure my burrito. Less than 5 inches long. It was thick stuffed with rice/beans. But it tasted bad. I did not finished it. Plus I paid $9.65 for this and a medium drink.

Chit chat... First the good it is very clean. Industrial like clean. Parking is good. Service and folks are outstanding. I love it........ Do not go here if you are a frugal diner.$9.65 for medium mediocre burrito + a medium drink.. THAT IS SO WRONG...Also if you are looking for real mexican style food.. This is Yuppie type food. Not food for real men. There are better deals( 8.99 for a seafood entree in the Cape)For a real burrito try Super Taco or 3 Burrito.

Do come here if you like to waste your money and have mediocre to terrible taste buds. That covers 95% of floridians. If you are from the West coast stay away. ..Exceptions veggie wimps and gotta be organic types.

Mucho Taco,good divey mexican food

Here is my 2 cents of the food. OBA OBA, it was great. It was almost like being in LA.
The tacos were just the way I got them off a stand in Tijuana . Oh my goodness the chili relleno
. It has to be as good as any more pricey eatery .  Sauce ,well delish... cheese melted enough to burn your mouth. Hot salsa was homemade. Bean and rice. Well its beans and rice. good stuff.

Chit chat... It is located in a barrio type place in Fort Myers. Near a major highway 75 on Palm Beach Blvd. It is in a mall. It is. a DIVE.
BUT the best food is ALWAYS in a DIVE. We got there at 1130 AM on a Sunday. It had a line of families and working stiffs. Always a GREAT sign. Spanish is prefered but english works well. Tables, counters, booth to sit in.  It is a small space.....Local spanish station on the TV.
They open at 1030AM. good time to get in and out.
So when you need REAL mexican food not Taco B**l bull stuff. Come on down here.
And if you have never have had REAL mexican cuisine only T**o Bell stuff you will be surprised and delighted.

Though I have met floridians who prefer americanized mexican food. ....Just goes to show you the bad taste floridians in general have.

The Waffle House, so good

Here is my 2 cents on the food.  WOW every time I have gone here the food is fantastic. I always get a waffles.
They are crispy and hot. Waffle House , people get the waffles. The cook always does my eggs right, over easy.
The 9 variation of hashbrowns. I get the standard potaoes, always great .
Coffee is good
.BUT the cups are TOO small...too many refills adding cream and sugar too many times ;(~~~
Anyway the food has always been done to my great satisfaction.

Now chit chat.  We were there on a Thursday, 1120 am. WOW crowded. But did get a table. Christy(? )was a outstanding server. She was fast, helpful, and attentive. 15 minutes later the rush of people were gone. (thank you) ...The staff were great cleaning and shining up the place. I love coming here, but too bad they are 11 miles from crib. Good thing I guess , I would get fat on waffles & bacon otherwise.

When in the area or passing on the 75 stop in here. Please!!!!!

Slates, soooooo good

Here is my 2 cents. This the 2nd time eating here. The food is just outstanding. It is spicy and so flavorable. I had the crawfish etouffee  and my wife had the shrimp poor boy.
The seafood is fresh and melts in your mouth. The etouffee is full of crawfish and so spicy. Maybe too spicy for floridians. PLUS if you need more heat (like me) they offer additional choice sauces. The first time eating key lime pie was great. Though we had to wait for the chef to make the whip cream, It was so worth it. ( I make my own whip cream. I know fresh whip cream ;-) )

Service was again out standing
