Deep Lagoon & Oyster House, McGregor Blvd, Ft. Myers, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.

This is the first day that they open for lunch service. They had staff galore. Everyone was smiling and nice.
My waitress was Guenevere. A new resident to Florida. She did a 5 star service.

I order a sweet tea 2.99, A bowel of gumbo.$9.00   Plus their fish and chips made with hog fish made with a unique seasoning.$11.00

But I always come for the food and frugality.

The sweet tea. Sorry not that sweet.

The gumbo... This was excellent. Not New Orleans excellent except ,It was loaded with sausage seafood and okra...... It was not as spicy as it should be. They did fail to offer me the house hot sauce at the beginning. ( Tabasco is on the table.) It was good. ( you can buy a bottle at the outrageous price of 8 bucks, better to slip the bottle in your pocket or bag.)

Now the over priced ($11.00) small portion of hog fish and chips. It had no unique flavor and did not hold up to being crispy, while I ran my mouth with Guenevere. I have had bigger portion, better flavor and cheaper prices at the local fish & chips joints.

So I guess this is MY bad mistake.
This place is more of a ambiance place. Or for those with the nose stuck in the air.
So if you are a holty tolty kind of folks with money to burn this is for you.

Twisted Lobster

Twisted Lobster, Del Prado Blvd., S, Cape Coral Blvd., Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.

The food, 1/2 pounds of shrimp your way and fries.  6 bucks( a half of pound sounds bigger than 8 ounces... LOL   )   Plus a sweet tea, endless.$2.69
Plus my splurge of a bowl of clam chowder $9.00

The spurge, clam chowder. This is the best house made chowder that I have had in SWFL.
You see the clams, no need to add salt. No need for pepper. No crackers, Just right.

The special of the day shrimp & fries. Hot and fresh on delivery.  MMMMM
Two things though:the cocktail sauce could use more horseradish. Plus I am not always in love with the coating on the fries.

Chatter. This place has great food. It also has GREAT deals IF you see them on FB. So you must check their page regularly.

Server are attentive and nice.

Ruby Tuesday

Ruby Tuesday, Santa Barbara Blvd., Cape Coarl, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chit chat.
The food. Chicken sliders with fries & a raspberry lemonade.
My drink was 4 bucks endless supply. I had 5.

My sliders were 5 bucks. They were pretty tasty.

Ruby has specials it seems every Tuesday. They are only in the 5 dollar range, from 11AM to 3 PM. Mostly dine in only. You are notified via e mail. So you must sign up.
I have found this well worth it. The food is good and is MUCH cheaper & nicer than a fast food joint.
The server and food is always top notched.

Chatter.
This is a cafe/bakery recently open by  German retirees.
I only bought bake goods. Apple strudel, black forest cake and another which I forget the name but was delish. (see pic later on in my blog)
While I was there I over heard German tourist.

The food. pleasant to the eyes  wonderful on the tongue.

Extraordinaire Meal !!
I went here for the Father's Day Brunch. It started at 1000 AM.
 (I was so relieved it started early...I hate with a passion driving after 1 PM with these moronic floridians so call drivers.)

BUT it is worth the danger for this fine meal.

I got a gin & tonic. ( 12 bucks  ehhh) I order the tomahawk steak. Medium rare of course, a Caesar salad, biscuits,( its brunch) a side order of cream spinach, and a NY cheese cake with fresh blue berries and House made FRESH whip cream + a side cup of whipped cream.
The biscuits were hot flaky. MMMM.
Then the salad. I will say the only disappointment was my salad. I thought the cheese and prosciutto were sliced too big. Plus it just did not ring my taste buds.
The cream spinach did ring my bell. AAhhh.

Now the main attraction. The Tomahawk,
A Presentation !!!

They bring to your table, a holder of top of the world steak knives. ( see pic ) ie. German, Japanese, American.
And/or they present the steak on a cutting block that a Chef will slice for you. I chose my knife and sliced it myself.
The steak was well marbled and you could almost use a butter knife to carve it.
It melted on the tongue.
I was in CARNIVORE HEAVEN....if there was a heaven.
I barely had room for the cheese cake.
Cheesecake was marvelous & whipped cream was perfectly sweet.

This topped off an Extraordinaire meal.

My server Charles was 5 diamonds service. Plus I was greeted by the head honcho.
An Excellent time.

Leone's Italian Food & Specialty

Leone's Food & Specialty, SE 14th Ave., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.

Pizza is a personal thing. I like Leone. Pepperoni and mushroom. A taste of each in every bite. Plus good when cold. It is not inexpensive. If you want cheap & fast go to a chain place.
Slices are available at times.

Everything is made from Leone recipe.She is 75 +.
Cannolis are not made til you order. They carry imported items. Plus each day is a different soup.
They had closed down but now are reopened for the last few months.

Be warned they are located in an industrial area of the Cape. Low traffic.

The biggy,   THEY ONLY TAKE CASH or check.    NO PLASTIC OF ANY KIND...

Service is kind but can be slow.

The Omelette Shop

The Omelet Shop, SW 16th Pl., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents of the food and chatter.

This is a breakfast joint. The omelet is the specialty. I wanted a waffle. Unfortunately it would have cost me 20 bucks, since it would be al la carte.

So I got their version of the western omelet. It was 9 bucks with large order of hash browns a slice of fruit and 2 large pieces of toast.

It was large and in charge a great meal. Large portion not unreasonable prices.

Service was good. Will be back.
