Parkway Subs & Salads

Parkway Subs & Salad, Cape Coral PKWY., Cape Coral, FL., A growling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food and chit chat.
WOW I am mad at the folks of The Cape and Myself... Here we have an excellent 5 carat diamond sub and breakfast place hiding in plain sight.
First I order a large lemonade. Large is 32 ounces... Then I got a egg,ham and cheese on a croissant.
Talk about decadent  . It was oozing with butter and flavor. Egg properly cook, enough ham and melted cheese.
I then got for later . The Bomb or something. Its a cut in half 14 inches or so sauerkraut, corn beef & pastrami sub with spicy mustard. LOTS of meat lots of flavor good cold or hot.
I needed 2 hands it was flowing with meaty goodness.
They are open 8-8. They will deliver in the Cape only south of Veterans Blvd. Or you can call ahead and P.U.
Absolutely will be a repeat client.

Chinese Kitchen

Chinese Kitchen, Metro Parkway, Ft. Myers, Fl., A growling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food & chit chat., Alright this is the perfect Chinese food for SWFL. Basic ,simple , modest prices, and only take out. It is not the best but not the worst I have had. Also had the egg rolls hot crispy just egg rolls.
I order the orange beef dinner. A bit sweet and bit spicy, lots of beef (see pic) orange peel,  carrots, not too shabby...12 bucks.
Folks are nice ,you can call ahead for faster service over all a repeat place.

Wicked Good Deli

Wicked Good Deli,  Metro Pkwy, Ft. Myers, Fl. Here is some chatter and my 2 cents on the food.
I love the name. Too bad it does not live up to it. I got the wicked bomb or whatever its called
7 bucks with a bag of chips. A six inch bun with shaved beef a tad of peppers maybe onions hardly any cheese..... Very BORING-mediocre.
It should be wicked with grilled onion ,lots cheese and grilled green pepper . At least an 8 inch roll.
That's what I am use too. On Divisadero St. in The City, San Francisco.Ca. A real man sandwich.
Alas I forget I am in a place that accepts mild flavor and mediocre substitutions. No spirit or vivid imaginations.
White bread midwest folks.
Staff is nice and quick.

Cafe Brazil Restaurant

Cafe Brazil Restaurant, Metro Pkwy., Ft. Myers, FL., Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chatter.
This should be of great interest for SWFL floridians. This cuisine is very simple of what the local Brasilian eat every day. Healthy, fresh, not spicy unless you visit Northern Brasil.

This is a buffet that you would find typically in a local eatery of Rio. A nice variety and its served per kilo. ( 2.2 pounds) Of course here it is 5.99 a pound. You pick what you desire and then they weigh it. After you are done chowing down they present you with the bill. The plate that I have photograph, came in weighing 1 pound. So My meal was 6 bucks plus my AYCD tea.
They do have a extensive menu with other entree costing 7-24 bucks. Bife,(beef) and shrimp plus fish etc.
So if you are on a budget, and yet want to sample Brasilian food without the costly ticket this is a must visit.
I have been to Brasil on/off for 20 years this is what you will find.
Service is great and friendly.
Sim=yes   Na=no   Obrigado=thank you   Danada=welcome
Come enjoy.

Caribou Coffee & Einstein Bagels

Caribou Coffee & Einstein Bagels, Pine Island Rd., NE, Cape Coral, FL, Here is my 2 cents on my meal and chatter.
I had a regular coffee and a Green Chile bagel sandwich to go. The coffee was very hot getting home and very strong. If I had stayed there I could have had a free refill.
I order a Green Chile bagel club, turkey, bacon, tomatoe, you get the jist. It was a bit burnt and a bit soggy when I opened at home. They had wrapped it in a paper/aluminum wrap. I was suprized it was also a bit spicy. Over all pretty good.
I was also given a very small side of potato salad. After 4 spoonfuls it was gone. It was good just needed more.
Service was just like a St*r bucks.
Basically this is a clone of a St*r Bucks with an added bagel bakery included. The coffee side has it own sandwiches , bagel side it own drinks. Just sharing the same real estate.
So just your average coffee & bagel chains.
No big whoop.

My Sweet Art

My Sweet Art,Nicholas Pkwy, Cape Coral, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
MMMM goodness. My meal , The Parisian, a in house made ,fresh daily baguette , thinly slices of ham, tomato, lettuce and butter. With a salad. 8 bucks.
This is not a american hoagie.  It is smaller a bit pricier. But it is so damn good & filling. The baguette is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The ham, though thin, it has great flavor with no fat. ( You know fat usually equals flavor... LOL...)
The salad with fresh greens and a  vinaigrette dressing.
For dessert. A chocolate eclair. 4 bucks. Though you will find a bigger one at Perkins for the same price.
This had 2 flavors inside and was more delicate. For the sophisticated palette.
And for later Quiche Lorraine. A meal for breakfast or anytime.
Lets not forget our excellent server, Donna. Always on top of things with a smile.

Steak & Shake

Steak & Shake, Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is chatter and my 2 cents on the food.
I have written  550 + reviews and out of those only 2... I did not leave any tip.
I arrived at 1115 AM.  I was promptly seated. I told my server I'd like coffee with cream.
Coffee delivered. Luke warm. As I peruse around I counted 3 servers and 6 tables( included mine)
only 1 or 2 patrons at each. ( see pics) 16 minutes later,( yes I counted) a server brought me my order. The top of the line burger, fries & onion rings. I was waiting for more coffee. 19 minutes I got some.
I reached for the mustard & ketchup squeeze bottles. BOTH of the tips were DRIED shut.
My burger was luke warm and onions rings a bit warmers.  Bad tasting coffee though hot the second time.   TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
NO TIP.
