Leroy Southern Kitchen and Bar

Leroy Southern Kitchen and Bar,West Marion Ave., Punta Gorda, FL., A grumbling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food and chatter. .....The food. Fried chicken thighs on biscuits with gravy and smash red skin potatoes. OBA OBA OBA ( Brasilian for  WOW ). The chicken is the very best I have found since being here. 9 bucks?
It was fried to perfection, crispy, moist and had a outstanding coating with flavor. Simple so good. Biscuits were light and fluffy. The taters were homemade with the skins still on ( extra vitamins ). Gravy smooth and delish.( I would have like a bit of hot pepper. ) Oh lets not forget the big mason jar of house sweet tea..... Why these restaurants  do not advertise that they make their own sweet tea is beyond me. It is usually so much better than commercial stuff.
Over all a great meal. The 30 minute drive is worth it. Parking is a bit of a challenge. Service was great.

Miceli Restaurant

Miceli Restaurant, Pine Island Rd., Matlacha, Fl.,A growling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food a bit of chit chat. Turkey day. A buffet for 25 bucks.
I must say they do it right for the price. Prime rib, turkey, gravy, taters, green beans ,bread ETC.
Everything I sample was excellent. My only issue was NO sweet potatoe pie. They had the wretched key lime pie. But over all, as far as food goes it was wonderful.
Service was outstanding. I was visited a number of times by staff. So friendly folks.
My only future problem it will be TOO popular.
I will make it a point to come here later.
Oh yeah they have tables that view the water.

Wok Cuisine-Chinese Restaurant

Wok Cuisine-Chinese Restaurant, Boy Scout Dr., Ft. Myers, FL., A growling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food and some chatter.

The food. Sensational sweet tea, fabulous fried wontons, and magnificent mongolian beef. The house made sweet tea was sweeten just right. My wontons were hot and crispy w/ just enough heat for hot mustard, the sweet sauce so right. Ahhh mongolian beef. not as spicy as I like ( nothing here is ever) But the beef was so tender it melted in my mouth. The right combination of green and white onions with a not too salty sauce.
This has to be one of the best chinese places around. Service was stellar. A bonus there is a great asian market near by.
So when you need that fix give them a try

Leone Pizza

Leone Italian Food Specialty,, SE 14th St., Cape Coral, FL., A grumbling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food and chatter.
Alright, when I am not checking out other eateries, this is my to go to place for a good pizza pie. Its never made til ask ( including cannoli ), plus you can buy it by the slice. Pizza is a personal deal.
The only hiccup here is  CASH ONLY.
They offer lots of italian products from Italy. The housemade soups and sausage are all wonderful.
Plus it is in the industrial section of the Cape, 1/2 mile from City Hall. Well worth the trip.
So go to an ATM and come on down, spend a wad of cash

Bam German Bakery

Bam German Bakery, Se 47th St, Cape Coral, FL., A grumbling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food and chatter.
The food. I got a coffee, roll, and a ham & cheese omelette. Coffee hot and good tasting. You have a choice of 6-7 bread items. I got a roll. EHHH. Hard, no flavor. At these prices it should be fresh out of the oven or at least steamed. It was not. Ham and cheese omelette. Nope. This maybe a european style but it was wrong. The cheese was a bit stringy, a lot of cheese... but no flavor. Ham is not folded inside the eggs but mix with the eggs. also not enough ham.
Note: They used chives or green onion as a bit of decoration on the plate.A bad idea.
I ask for some hot sauce. .. I got Texas Pete Hot sauce!?  This is one of the cheapest most vinegary sauce around. Germany has no hot sauce???
Chatter; Service was very good. They are an excellent bakery with a good choices.
They specialize in german cuisine and such.  So maybe it was my fault in picking this place this time.

OBSERVATION... I heard ,at a table of three,  german, being spoken. Why the heck would you go to a foreign country and eat food that you get at home. DUHHH!

anyway BUT bad prepared and dry food is always wrong.

Nestor's Restaurant

Nestor's Restaurant, Hancock Bridge Pkwy, N. Fort Myers., FL. A growling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food and chit chat.
The food. Great old fashion food. Soup... a taste on the tongue, fabulous, lobster bisque. WOW... I could have ate a bowl not just the cup. Rolls fresh hot rolls...the way it use to be done at... ALL restaurants in the day. real butter no fake stuff. A special that is hardly ever found any more..Hungarian Goulash. a special of the day not found to often.  Cubes of tender beef that melts in the mouth. A sauce that is ladle on a bed of just al dente egg noodles. OOOh so good stuff
Just right for the carnivore inside all of us... The perfect meal to end the week.
My server was experience and done the task so well.
A place you might be inclined to drive by because of all the cars all time. Fear not. Do so drop in!!!

South Cape Diner

South Cape Diner, Cape Coral Pkwy., Cape Coral, FL., A grumbling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food, chit chat.
The food. Lean Reuben sandwich, cole slaw, and sweet tea.
If you love just basic american style food this is one of the places. Reuben: corn beef, rye, swiss cheese and thousand island dressing. The 2 slices of rye was separated by about 1 1/2 inches of meat goodness. I added a touch of mustard and I am in carnivore heaven. Cole slaw  crisp and tasty.
Service was excellent,
But... My 2 cents. It was advertised a LEAN reuben...And for all of you calories counters ok. I like my reuben with FAT. That is the REAL DEAL.. As tradition goes and the original servings are you NEED that stuff.  You only live once ,so have a smile on the face :-)  , EAT MORE FAT...
