Amazon Grille

Amazon Grill, Cleveland Ave., Ft. Myers, FL A grumbling in my tummy and 2 cents on the food. A bit of chatter. Ok the good stuff.  The service was up to par and it was clean as far as I could see.
The buffet. The Food... I always sample a lil bit of everything at a buffet.
This was the most awful  food or buffet I have ever tasted. It was COLD. Pork was tough. Spaghetti dry. Shrimp had to be from the day before. Plus from the website page I thought there would meat. Not til the weekend.
So in 30 days I will recheck this plus... But for now NOPE.

California Burrito

California Burrito, Cleveland Ave.S, Ft. Myers, Fl., A growling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food and chatter.
Chit chat.  OBA OBA, WOW WOW... Finally a place that serves REAL BURRITOS.. no frigging lettuce, actual refried beans, hot jalapeno  peppers, They really understand the term of HOT PEPPER.
Finally a void has been filled real  california food. This is made to order items. Once you have made a physical stop... You can call in your order ahead a time for faster service.
The burrito is large and has weight. $7.50 tax included.  ( if U like taco bell...go away..it is not for U)
This is for carnivores( though I guess you can just get a bean & rice one)
This is designed for the working stiff... great tasting, cheap, filling and fast. The way it was invented in the  1950's , San Francisco, Ca. the Mission District.
Enjoy.

Sai Gon Sandwiches

Sai Gon Sandwiches, Cleveland Ave., Ft., Myers, The growling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food and chit chat. The food. This is a must place if you enjoy a uncommon sandwich.
They are frugal, healthy, fresh rolls, a bit spicy and oh so good. They are for the adventurous when it comes to sandwiches. Sandwiches that are so good. These are made while you wait Vietnamese sandwiches. They have at least 10 on the menu. So you must try them all.
You can sit for a leisurely meal of soup and coffee, or order ,dash, dine and go. Either way you will have a delightful time. But remember quality and freshness can take a bit longer. Enjoy

El Patio Restaurant

El Patio Restaurant, Cleveland Ave.S., Ft. Myers., FL, A growling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food and chit chat.  ( PERUVIAN STYLE EATERY)
Chatter. Once I was able to determine which door to enter I was surprised  to find the place was 1/2 full.
It took a few minutes to get a server. I was given some fried corn kernels with, too spicy for Floridians, sides of green and red sauces . I love the sauces and corn kernel. I was brave trying a red corn flavor concoction that had a hot spicy cinnamon taste to it.  Eh it was ok.I also drank a Inca Cola, Golden Kola, it taste like a american cream soda. Pretty good.
My main entree was shredded chicken in a yellow sauce, w/milk ,walnuts, with 1/2 boiled potato, rice, boiled egg,  olive. I thought it was good ,creamy rich, the way french food is rich and heavy.
I kicked it up with the hot red/green sauce. I was a happy trooper then.
Over all not bad.... I still do not get the fascination, from my fellow foodies in Naple,FL. , about peruvian cuisine. It was just a good change of pace.
Service was a tad slow for me. I thought they could have given me more attention.  I stated 3 times I was a newby. They should have guided me more around the menu.

Boat House Tiki Bar & Grill

Boat House Tiki Bar & Grill, Driftwood Pkwy., Cape Coral, FL. Growling in my tummy, 2 cents on food and chatter.
The Food & chatter. The menu is quite extensive. Bison burger, salad and seafood.
I got the fried seafood platter. 20 bucks clams ,shrimp, and fish. All fresh.... fried to perfection. Cocktail sauce tangy not very spicy, Tartare ok, House made cole slaw with bits of mango. A good entree. I tried the so called house hot sauce...just a stepped up catsup. Over all good chow.
Chit chat.
I was treated to a live wonderful singer and pianist. Did a great job.
They are open 8 AM to 10 PM. I arrived at 1045 AM. My server told me and did not take my order til 11 AM.  THEY DO NOT TAKE ANY FOOD ORDERS betweens 1030 AM & 1100 AM. Breakfast/Lunch
Except booze and drinks.
My sweet tea which was served in a 12 ounce plastic cup with ice costed $2.75 though there are refills. Do the math and figure  how expensive it is.
A can of beer here is $4.50 on average. Times that by 6.
( Factoid: The following cities with the MOST expensive drinks in the USA. 1.Anchorage, Alaska,
2.Santa Rosa, California,3. Cape Coral, Florida)   Alaska yes but Ca. and FL noooo!!!!!
Anyway good service good chow but pretty much a local touristy joint.

McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood & Steaks

McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steak, Strada Pl., Naples, FL A growling in my tummy, 2cents on the food and chatter.
The food. My oh my the food. I was served piping hot out of the oven fresh sourdough food. It is as close as San Francisco sourdough bread as you can get in this heathen state. Slightly more sour. Good stuff.
My entree, Salmon, grilled to perfection on the outside flaky as it should be on the inside, Veggies of fingerling taters, squash, carrots and onions. Seasoned proper with only a slight dash more of salt for my taste buds.
This was a wonderful dining experience, even with a newby for a server. Good job very attentive.
Ahh there was a very noticeable hiccup.
On the website it stated it would be open at 11 AM on a sunday. I called at 715 PM on a saturday to confirm. I was told yes. On my arrival at 1105 AM Sunday I was told they did not open til 1130 AM. I was told I needed to wait.  But I could wait inside.  HMMMMM with this confusion I should have been at least offered a coffee or soda pop at no charge. 2 other parties arrived with the same info.  hhmmm. A lack of communication is a mist .
But food was great. Definitely will return

Popeyes

Popeyes Chicken, Hancock Bridge Blvd., Cape Coral, FL.A growling in my tummy some 2 cents and chit chat. First chit chat... I love Popeyes. It is the only places in SWFL I have found thats makes GOOD SPICY FRIED CHICKEN... I have NOT FOUND anyplace that really has good fried chicken.  Spicy or NOT... OR dirty rice, hush puppies, red beans and rice. I thought Florida was consider in the south. This is a barren desert . I have search for 5 years.
Oh I do hate Popeyes biscuits. Winn-Dixie has good ones and KFC.

Food. I got the special of the week hush puppies shrimp,(8) side of red beans/rice and throw away biscuits. $4.99
What can I say delish fried shrimp, tasty spicy red bean/rice. and biscuits.  MMMMM good.
Service was quick food was hot.
So if anyone can steer me to other fried chicken please do.
