Here is my 2 cents on the food. WOW! It was like being back in California.
The tacos were the best. It was like getting it off a food truck or cart. The price was right $1.50 each. A great corn tortilla a bit of cilantro, a touch of cheese and lots of meat. In this case shredded beef.
OMG the salsa and in house made corn chips were to die for .
I had a chille relleno. Cooked to perfection and just a tad spicy. They had refried beans .OBA OBA!!!!! The rice was excellent.
So if you want the real deal of Mexican food you must come here.
Chit Chat. My GPS made it hard to find. Its not. It is located next to the ever boring Pizza Hut on North Cleveland Ave in North Fort Myers. A quick jaunt over a bridge from Fort Myers.
There is no indoor seating. BUT do not get discourage. The screened in patio has a TV and plenty of tables. The day I was there it was 89 degrees. I experience such a cool, refreshing, and constant breeze. The only thing that made me hot was the extra caliente sauce. Oh yeah and my server was a saucy wench. She did a outstanding job. You can get it to go also.
So if wish to experience authentic Mexican cuisine like I found in California ( 30 year resident) Make the effort and try this place. BUT note if you think Taco bell is fine food I suggest you pass on this culinary delight.

Thai Star, great expectations, disappointed
Here is my 2 cents on the food. The thai ice tea was great sweet & tasty. I had beef Drunken Noodle and spring rolls. Fist the spring rolls
. They should have been brought first,. instead of arriving at the same time of the entree. Plus at 5 bucks they should be bigger and more items inside. And there was only 2. They were hot and crispy but just cabbage inside. Tasted good though.
The soup serve was very good but it should have been more hot. Temperature wise that is.
They had a 0-5 rating of heat I ask for the 5 plus. IT WAS NOT. It barely got my attention. WHERE was the BEEF. Hardly any. 6-7 pieces. PLUS they were VERY tough. I was not impress. It tasted fine but all the issues I mention really brought it down.
Now Chit Chat. It is in a good area near a medical facility prices seem fair BUT there are 2-3 other better Thai places. If they bring up their game they could be a 5 star foodie lo
cation. As of now nope.

Brown Bag Sandwich Shop, goodness to go
Here is my 2 cents on the food. I had a Reuben and pasta salad.
Pasta salad the best in SW Florida since coming from San Francisco Bay, CA. The pasta was filled with artichoke hearts, feta cheese and black olive slices. It was seasoned properly and not too much vinegar. The reuben was toasted properly on rye bread with sauerkraut , swiss cheese and thousand island dressing. It was meaty with a inch and a half of goodness. ( yes I measured it). A great sandwich and filling.
Chit chat. This is a family runned affair. It has 2-3 tables but this is a catering and takeout situation. The folks are friendly and delightful. Items are made on site( like the pasta salad). Parking can be a bit cramped. They have different special for each Monday-Friday.
So if in need of a luncheon to be catered or just a good sandwich, drop in or give a hollar.

3 Fishermen, N. Fort Myers, Good deal, good view
Here is my 2 cents on the food. The fish was fabulous.
I had fried cat fish, grilled haddock & blacken tilapia. All were piping hot and cooked to perfection. I thought the blacken could be more spicy but that's me. The sides of green beans & cole slaw were great. I also loved the hush puppies that came with each round.. You must try the made on premise sweet tea. Outstanding.
Now chit chat. During the off season on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday for $13.99 you ask for all you can eat fish. It not on the menu and sometimes the server do not always inform you of this. It is advertise in local papers but not widely. You get a choice of about 4-5 different fish. Plus 3-4 ways of preparations. You get great hush puppies and a choice or 2 sides. The server are great and attentive. Plus the view of the river is exciting. You can also berth your dingy outside the eatery. 3 Fishermen are located in the Best Western Hotel off of N. Cleveland near the IHOP.. Over all a great meal and good experience again.

Leone Italian Specialty Food, Heaven for Foodies!!!!!
Here is my 2 cents on the food. If there was a heaven for a foodie this is the entrance. The pasta fagioli is to die for.
The pasta is cooked al dente & the seasoning is a kiss on your lips.
My calzone was stuffed with melted gooey cheese tasty pepperoni & mushrooms. My large side dish of dipping sauce was spiced enough with garlic and all other italian herbs it made me cry for the goodness.
Now some chit chat. First the bad news, They only accept CASH & local CHECKS. NO DEBIT or CREDIT CARDS. Thats it.
It is located in the industrial section of the Cape. A mile or so from the main Post Office and city hall.
BUT if you want REAL food, like you would find in Little Italy of San Francisco this is a must find. The owner treated me as if I was a long lost relative. She gave me a personal tour of the deli. Showing me how she made Pasta fagioli. ( it was in its last stage. No secrets revealed, :-( ... )
Everything is made from scratch. I saw the basic material come thru the front door. The aroma of goodness can you guide here . It is not fancy but plenty of room for a pee wee football squad to sit.2 tables out doors. So many choices for you to pick. So little time on the earth.
Finally I found a place in SW Florida, where you can experience a classic world cuisine. .It will not break your wallet but fill your heart and belly with joy.
If you do not like the italian food here, your taste buds have been corrupted by the big corporations of chain eateries.
Come fill your belly with joy!!!

Chen China Bistro, great food charming place
Here is my 2 cents on the food.
I order the kung pow beef. POW it was extra spicy the way I wanted and ask for. Plus hot oil on the side. They food was terriffic. Fresh and quality items.
The hot & sour soup was good. A clear yet thick broth done to perfection. I was a happy trooper today.
Chit Chat. This is one of the best chinese eatery in the Cape. The surrounding were beautiful. The service was excellent. The staff did a wonderful job.. A bit more in price but the quality and service makes up for it. They have a card spend basically $100.00 get a free meal. Which I can see doing easily. I was here at 1130 AM on monday.
So for good food in a charming surroundings give them a try.

Joe's Crab Shack, surprising good food
Here is my 2 cents on the food. First the drink.
Mardi gras sumething..U R only allowed 2. It was 8.50 but it was good/pretty and gave you a quick buzz. Appetizer,
crab stuffed mushrooms. MMM tasty lots of crab... good stuff......
33 shrimp for 11.99... This is why I came. Fried shrimp better tasting than any other fried shrimp I have had in SWFL so far. Cocktail could be more spicy but thats me.. Coconut shrimp.. this is not a favorite of mine...but my wifey and others luv it. There was a dipping sauce with I think had mango-pineapple in it. It actually made it very good and well recieved for me.
BBQ shrimp... I do not like peeling shrimp and it was a bit bland for me. BUT it was well saute and I did like it....Oh yes a large portion of french fries ...too much for me to consume. Over all a really good meal.
Chit chat.
The parking lot seems to be small if they should get busy. I was here at 1140AM on a wednesday. My server Sarah did an wonderful professional job..Kudos! The bartender and cooks were terrific. Sometimes on a lunch schedule you get the 2nd string. These folks were all number 1 in my book. The place was clean organize. It really has me coming back. Which is strange. I do not like chain eatery. But this was a good different
So if you had doubts put them aside and give Joe's a try.....
