Super Taco, The BEST as you can get for a burrito in SWFL

Here is my 2 cents on the burrito.

This is hands down the best burrito I have found in The Cape Coral-Ft. Myers area. I come from San Francisco . Home of the original burrito. Create in the 1950's in the Mission District for the working stiffs. The burrito here is  a 2 two handed job. Without any sauce on top. They have rice,beans, choice of meat, cheese, sour cream, avocado if desire and jalapeno peppers. All for a reasonable 7 bucks. It fills your belly for at least 2 meals. Plus they give you chips and homemade sauce at no extra charge.

A bit of chit chat. They are located near the Walmart in North Myers. If you think that the wannabe so call mexican chains are good ( ie. T*co *ell, or that over priced small order at *hipole) Hence obviously you have never experienced real food or you are a Floridians. Which is basically the same.

So when in the urge of authentic burrito. Or other fast mexican  food you must come here.

Salvatore's, very disappointing pizza

Here is my 2 cents on the food. Plus a bit of chit chat. I order my standard large pepperoni & mushroom pie.

This is how I judge all new pizza joints. The crust was thin and crispy. ... That all the good news. This is a  first time eating a pie from Salvatore. I got it delivered. Delivery was sooner than I was told. The pie was piping hot. Taste  ......it really sucked. There was no distinctive flavoring. Not much oregano, basil and a lack of garlic.  Plus if you look at my pic they were skimpy on mushrooms. I order from the web site. On Friday & Saturday  you are to get a small cheese pie when ordering certain items. I met that requirement. I did not think I needed to remind them of this. It should just be a gimmie or I Should have been asked at time of ordering.

There were 10 reviews at a certain site.All but 1 gave it 5 stars. The 1 gave it 4 stars. This supports my continue statement. Floridian have NO idea what is good food.  I know its not me. I am in good health. No medications to screw with my taste buds.. I have been eating pizza for 30 + years.

Plus I paid 25 bucks. With a cannoli.

Cannoli was good but small for 4 bucks. So over all I learned a few lessons. NEVER pay attention to floridians on reviews of tasting food. Be sure and point out on a special when ordering. And never pay 20 bucks on a 2 topping pizza.

Clancey's, A great eatery

Here is my 2 cents on the food. It was great. I was given a sample of onions and peppers in a balsamic vinegar.

I thought it was savory. I tried their homemade cole slaw. The cabbage was crunchy and the dressing was well balanced . Not too wet,too sweet or too salty .Just right. I was tired of seafood so I got a strip steak. The cook prepare it to the perfect medium rare. Over all an excellent meal.

 Oh yes you must try the clam chowder.

It was so tasty. I did not need any s & p and when I added some crackers, I actually though I had ruined it. It is that good by itself.  A tip: on Thursday the special is corn beef and cabbage. After all its a Irish place.

Now some chit chat. Be warned if you are 0ver 5'11" ( I am 6'3") the door entrance is a bit low. The folks were very nice and inviting. My server,Joshua, did a outstanding job. I though the decor was homey and comfortable. They only serve wine and beer. Over all a great place. I will be back again soon.

Backstreet Sports Bar, the food belongs in the street gutter

Here is my 2 cents on the food. It is not worth 2 cents. It was taco Wednesday. 25 cents. It was flour tortilla with ground beef using a premix seasoning (lawry's taco mix).

Good to eat if you are cheap and drunk. I tried the french dip. WOW this really sucked. They gave you plenty on a roll BUT it had ZERO flavor . Not even salt or pepper.  Even I added salt and pepper it was totally taste less. I would be embarrassed to even call this food. Bar food should be fatty and salty. Both gives you bad calories but the fat and salt gives you some kind of flavoring. This had none. The fries were the best part but how can you mess up fries.

Now some chit chat. Its a sport bar. An unhealthy sports bar.. If you go inside cancer sticks smoke galore. Your clothes will be a stinkin. Patio hot but with fans that have misting going on. TV's all around. Smoke dishes abound. Full bar. I was in there at 1139 AM on a wednesday. My server Lauren, was from my home state, Misery---- I mean Missouri. I thought she was a Blonde Surfer bimbo from California. Sexxy and cute !!!!!Did a good job was not the airhead you expect from blondes.
Anyway a clean lookin place for you to drink and waste your time with sports. FOOD what I had frack no.

Coconuts Bar & Grill, Great local bar and eatery

Well here is my 2 cents on the food and drink. The infamous Brandy Separator

. (Coffee liqueur , cream & brandy. )My drink for 30 years in The City by the Bay, San Francisco and Oakland, Ca. Since my tenure of 3+ years in The Coma and Ft. Myers .....NO ONE has heard of it. Ahhh the bartender here after my instructions did a exceptional performance  of creating my libation .It was by far the best. Thumbs up. Now the entree . A cheeseburger and fries

. I give kudos to the cook. It was beautiful to look at & a more delight to eat. I order it the way all beef should be cooked, medium rare. Looking and tasting , it was perfection on my plate. I ask for it to be dragged thru the garden. It was. And it was pretty. I must admit one of the best burgers I have had since moving here.

Now some chit chat. This is a centrally located place. All of the staff were friendly. My server, Melissa did an outstanding job. I even had a small chat with the new owner ( or one of the owners??)
If all of the food is as good as my burger they will do well.  There is an outdoor bar for the Floridians and a inside bar for us who still have not acclimatize to this humidity.
So if you are in there vicinity stop by.

Wicked Dolphin Distillery, A good way to kill 45 minutes

Well here is my chit chat on the Distillery. It is  FREE that's very good. If you have never seen how rum or other spirits are made it is worth the trip. They explain how all the ingredients are natural & all come from Florida. They give a bit of history and the best part is some small samples of tasting during and after the tour. I do recommend taking the tour.
BUT to buy some of the rum and tourist stuff it is pricy. Example the can or bottle cozies are 5 buck each. The 750 ml bottle of rums are 27 bucks. Now this is fairly a brand new operation. They do make a fine product. Except when you go direct to the manufacturing source you should get a better deal on the products. There is no middle man and no cost for advertising. In reality I should not have to pay top dollar at this location.
So if you are not a frugal person by all means enjoy.

Mission BBQ, just another mediocre floridian bbq

Well here is my 2 cents on the food.  I had a 3 meat,( brisket, pulled pork and sausage )combo with tater salad.  14 bucks -salad 2 something.....

.First the good stuff. I thought the potato salad was very good. Big chunks of properly cooked potatoes easy on the mayo and a bit of hot pepper just enough for flavor. The sausage with cheese and jalapenos. Just spicy enough and the cheese gave good texture. Though the casing was a bit tough. But it was down hill from there. The brisket fell apart and was not tasty. The pork was too dry and salty. Corn bread just bad.  What up with the sauces. They are all too thin and sour tasting. If you want good sauce go to ***mart and get the house brand or the Bull*** . Mission stuff just bad.

I have been here for over 3 years. I cannot figure out why SW Floridian flock to such mediocre or bad bbq /eateries.

 It was 1245pm and a friday. The  place was crowded with folks. Plus a small line at the order counter..This is the south I am told there is good food here and good bbq. This area does not support that assumption..  Then again, when I am in traffic, say a 2 lane westbound lanes at a traffic signal., There is 8-10 cars in one lane and the other lane is EMPTY. Why the frack are these morons playing follow the leader ???? But I should be thankful for that situation... I am not a sheep and I have great common sense and the knack for outstanding food.

So it is my mission,wink wink, in life to ferret out the good places and pass it along. There are better places off in the area for good bbq. Seek them out!!!
