Olde Fish House Marina

Olde Fish House Marina, Pine Island Rd., Matlacha, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.

Beside a eatery this is a fresh caught seafood market.

My anything on the menu birthday meal.
I got grilled shrimp, coleslaw, onion rings, and hush puppies.
I loved the cocktail sauce. Spicy enough.
Fresh grilled out of the water shrimp. a nice cole slaw and perfect hush puppies.
But the onion rings were bad. Beside not enough, the coating was too hard.
It also was lacking in flavor.

Service was great...I had to tolerate the red tide smell , though a large school of 7-8 catfish was fun to watch. They like the rings.

So to sit outside and fresh fish give them a try.

Thai Nawa

Thai Nawa, Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.

This is one of my favorite places. The food is filling and as hot & spicy as you can get.

I got the chef special Pad Paradise. A twist on the national dish with added stuff.
I got it so it literally made my eye balls sweat. Along with a thai tea. Service is always outstanding.
Lets not forget the crispy spring rolls. Very thin and crunchy.

If you love Thai cuisine you MUST come to this casual wonderful eatery.
But be warned. Asking  for a number 4 on the heat scale WILL burn your lips.
Wimps in florida stick to 3 or a 2.

Kings Kitchen

Kings Kitchen, W. First St., Ft. Myers, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.

I came here to give myself a birthday treat. I order a special of the day. They change daily.
I got a steak with a blue cheese topping on one side and various spices on the other. Cooked to medium rare of course.
It was served with a medley of veggies and mash taters. It was wonderful.
Service and my server was funny. She was outstanding.

I suggest you give them a try.

Bubba Roadhouse & Saloon

Bubba Roadhouse & Saloon, Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.

I love this place. Not because you get a full free meal when you are sign up for the e mail.

The food is pretty much always good. I got the11 oz. top sirloin, mash potato and green beans with corn bread. Of course medium rare.
It was cooked-ed to perfection. Beans with much flavor as was the potatos.
Service was outstanding.
I highly suggest you come here.

Grimaldi's Pizzeria

Grimaldi's Pizzeria, Cleveland Ave., Ft. Myers, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.

I came here because they are one of the few places that give you a ENTIRE FREE MEAL.  If you sign up for the e mail club you get a free 1 topping 16 inch pizza on your birthday, Dine in only.

I hate to really complain. But I will. Pizza is a personal thing. I like mushroom and pepperoni pies. In this case I added mushroom for 2 dollars more.
But when it arrived piping hot, thin crust and covered with pepperoni. Lo and behold, Where are my MUSHROONS ??

It not the money. I want to taste and eat mushrooms with my pepperoni. There were some 'roons. Just not very much. Though lacking this the pie was very good hot.
I also judge a pie on how it taste cold. In this situation it really failed. The pie was very spongy and too chewy when cold.
The staff was exceptional nice and professional.

I will return and say to you all come on down.

Hart & Soul

Hart & Soul, Del Prado Blvd., S., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.

This is one of my favorite places for breakfast. The staff is the best.
I get a waffle, biscuit, eggs over easy and bacon.
My biggest complaint is they are always warming up my cup of coffee. LOL.
This is one of my shortest review.   When a place does everything right on every visit...then you are just nit picking.
I guess one thing they could do better...Make my waffle a bit more crispy.Ha Ha that's me though.
So if seeking a good lunch or breakfast give them a try.
Oh yeah be advise there are 2 entrances. The big parking lot behind them and then the main entrance on Del Prado. Plus a table or two IFO.

Slate's Restuarant

Slate's Restaurant, Candia St., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chit chat.

Lets start by saying I went out of my comfort zone and being frugal.  I went for a dinner not a lunch.......This was my birthday meal.
Including tip I spent $140 bucks. It was for a tomahawk steak.
Let it be known they do EVERYTHING from scratch in house but the bread. (bread was wonderful too.)
I tried a cocktail called a Side Car. $10 bucks....good but not ten bucks good.
I got warm bread and butter...Which is unusual today for free bread or rolls.
Then I tried a cup of the gumbo...small portion, but oh so good and spicy...I loved it.

The main entree...a tomahawk steak, medium rare, with 2 large shrimp & fried potatoes with sausage and onions, and creamed spinach.

I was offered 5 different steak sauces... Why would anyone in their right mind put a sauce on the 2% of the advertised best beef available... If you do this you have horrible taste buds and are wasting your money.. Sauces are for less than choice types of beef.

On ward. The meal was terrific the service outstanding. Robin my server was excellent.

This was a carnivore delight
Though I was unable to finish it here, I had to save room for house mad ice cream and a chocolate torte.

This is 5 star place for a romantic date or to spoil yourself or others
