Thirsty Restaurant

Thirsty Restaurant, Vincennes St., Cape Coral, Fl. Here is my 2 cents and chatter.
I tried something I never heard of before..The cold platter ...oh yes a cup of chili.

The chili, house made. Just ok. Needed hot sauce to kick it up.

The cold platter. It is a large chilled plate with your choice of egg salad, chickens salad etc.
There are hard boil egg, fresh fruit, a dipping sauce, olives, veggies. Healthy stuff that is served cold. Something for a hot day... I found it light and a bit refreshing.
Truly for the healthy folks. Simple but filling.. 9 bucks or so...You will not find this dish at many other places.
I enjoyed it.
Service was great.

Metro Diner

Metro Diner, Cape Coral Parkway, E., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the  food and chit chat.
I was in a problem. My power at my house was out again. ( 12 times in 7 years in florida.. 2 times in California in 19 years).

So I needed to hangout for a while. They provide free wifi here.
I order the board item $ 15.00   of country fried steak, a biscuit, hash brown, large eggs over easy and endless coffee. Coffee extra.
Coffee was very good.
I thought this was a bit pricey. It was BUT...the steak was large, eggs were large, portions in general were a good size.
The best part was it tasted very good.
The order came very quickly. I was suprize because I had to wait for 15-20 minutes to get a table.
My server Curtis was outstanding. He checked on me frequently, filling my cup.
Other staff members did a great job.

Though it was a rushed on a Sunday morn the crew did a excellent job performance.

Wild About Popcorn

The product is made fresh daily. Plus you can sample for free any flavor.
The folks are great.
The big plus for me its nearby and is NOT in a big shopping mall.
So come on down and try.

Buckett's

Buckett's, S. Pointe Blvd. , FT. Myers, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food a rant & rave.

I ordered the Philly cheese steak 9.99 and 2 bucks extra with steak fries.
This is my rave.

This is the BEST phylly sandwich I have had here in SWFL since leaving SF. Bay.  . It was on a great loaf of bread. The size was perfect. The mushrooms were fresh...onions grilled correctly. Cheese melted just right.
OMG  the steak fries were big and just crispy enuff....
Oh yes Kati my server was the perfect Buckette' girl.

Now my rant... They serve wings...I am not a fans in general of wings.
But they CLAIMED of a suicide sauce......EEEEEHHHHHH
WRONG.....It was only a maybe step above Tabasco sauce. Too much vinegar in general.
When the mood for a Philly hits me I know where to go. !!!

Crave

Crave, McGregor Blvd. Ft. Myers, FL., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
Last time I was here I had a disappointing experience. So I was hoping it would change.

I order the MOST expensive item on the board. $20.00 Pot Roast..... (see pic)

What I got was a watery carrot soup with very small chunks of beef and a splash of mash potatoe.

Now what there was of beef was tender and tasted fine. The liquid has a taste of a wine. Big chunks of carrots. With a small amount of mashed potato.
I do not mind cooks taking a artistic brush to standard comfort food. I do not mind paying extra. (see pic)
But no flavor of bay leaf, garlic or onions. Standard stuff for this comfort food was tasted.

I did whine to my server ( aside from the bad food she did a outstanding job) She did only charge me $15 for the sandwich item  version instead.
But this is outrageous.

If they do not know how to make, then do not. Plus I blame the customers who tolerate this.

I will never again spend my cash here. Would I go back? Not on MY dime....

Salty Papa Shrimp House

Salty Papa Shrimp House, McGregor Blvd., Ft. Myers, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
I order the FB special and jambalaya for home.
Wow the special is out of the world. Big shrimp fried perfect. The cole slaw outstanding. Along with the service. Cocktail sauce balanced just right. Fries so good.
The Jambalaya...I think is pricey. But is filled with shrimp, sausage and such. It was missing some green peppers part of the trinity in New Orleans... Also not as spicy as it should be. But  floridians are BIG wimps when it comes to hot & spicy or sophisticated taste buds.

When you go asked for the FB special or any else....It is wonderful...
