Cantina Sol, Marinatown Lane, North Fort Myers,FL. Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat. I judge a mexican place by chili rellenos or enchiladas, No rellenois here. I must admit I was surprise as to how good their dish was.
It was well texture, right amount of cheese and good seasoned ground beef. The rice was a bit under flavored. The black beans were tasty. I asked for it to be spicy. They gave me fresh sliced jalapenos. Which is fine but they charged me 50 cents. Not loco for that charge. I also had a sweet tea, very good. I told them how to make my brandy separator. It was right on.
Chit chat. As of this writing if you join their e club you get a $20.00 coupon for drinks. The coupon expires within about 10 days when you sign up. My drink was 7.50. I thought a bit pricey but I do not get libation too often any more.
The server ,Kathlyn I believe, was outstanding.
The lunch menu over all were reasonable. Instead of umbrella tables there was sliding cabana style booths. A tight fit for a wide girth like me. But a fun place to sit.The decor and ambiance is why I gave this a 5 star. Food was good.

Florida still in top 5 of the USA, WORST DRIVERS OF COURSE
I wish someone would explain the stupid habits of Floridian drivers.
1. There are 2 lanes. We are at a signal light. STOPPED...WHY is there 10 cars all in one lane? And only 1 or 2 cars in the other lane????? So we have 90 percent rate of stupidity . I guess thats good for me. I get to whiz on by.
2. Why does it take 5 seconds or more for these morons to move after a light changes from red to green????
3. Why are these idiots always changing lane in the middle of an intersection???
4.What the hell is wrong with the assholes, they never signal nor do they look when making a lane change????
5.Why are all these old bad white women drivers running the stop signs and red light when making a right turn. Plus flapping the lips on a cell phone at the same time?????
They all must be republicans. Republicans are treasonous to our Constitution and disrespectful of the office of the President of the United States of American. Our President Obama.
With the leaders of the current Senate and Representatives being the worst. Showing such bad examples.

The O Bar And Grille, frugal place with locals
The O Bar And Grill, 304 Del Prado,N, (adjacent to The Orient), Cape Coral,Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food and then chit chat. I had the Italian Melt. Referred by the barmaid . It is a toasted roll with cheese, lettuce, hand sliced tomato, salami, ham , and pepperoni. Served with fresh cut fries.
I must say it was a great combination. The pepperoni gave it that little kick. Fries were fresh slice, crisp and hot. Over all a great choice.
Now my chi chat... This is a full bar. So be warned there is smoking allowed inside. But when I was there no one was smoking. Being a 1st time customer I got a free drink.Looking over the menu, prices were extremely reasonable. Each day of the week there is a special. Check website. The bar appeared to be very clean. This is a good sign. This not a tourist spot by any means. It is dedicated to Us local yodels. Great food excellent prices. Maybe be a bit divey but a good place.
I will be back.
Note: It is less than a half mile from the main hospital.

Pho Vinh, hot soup cold day. any day
Pho Vinh, 601 Del Prado, N,Cape Coral, FL. Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat. Hot soup on a cold day or any day. This Vietnamese style soup is as good as I found in the enclave of Oakland and San Francisco, CA.. A variety of fresh ingredients hot or mild. A regular bowl does more than enough to fill you up.
If you like spring rolls or egg rolls they have you covered.
A note on the order process
. You order and pay at the counter first. They give you a number to place on your table and bring you your food in a quick pace. Lots of smiles and salutations is what I got when I was there. They do a large to-go business so the phones ring quite a bit.
So when you are in the mood for something different drop on in. They will be happy to see you.
Ah one more thing... I am a cheap person. I do find that they may be a bit more pricey for the frugal type.

The Lodge, not bad food, touristy
The Lodge, Fort Myers, Fl, Note: Be advise that a majority of GPS units takes you to West First St. This is wrong. Check Google maps it will show you First St. in Fort Myers.
Here is a bit of chit chat and my 2 cents on the food. I had the Florida feral hog entree with Carolina potato salad and apple coleslaw.
First the sides. Both items were pretty good. I do not understand why these southern states item are always sour. Too much vinegar for me. Do they not have sugar? Or are the sour that they lost the civil war. Aside from my preference the side were good.
Now the main entree. Pork. It was good pulled pork. No big deal that it was feral hog meat though.
Ah but a big tasty surprise was their Texas style mopping sauce . A little spicy and a little sweet. Actually the best sauce I have tasted since being here in SWFL.
My server Becky did a great job.
This is a touristy and sports bar. Being in downtown Ft. Myers it is what you would expect to find.
Also if you wish to try moonshine for the first time ,
they have a good variety. I tried it. It was strong and surly get you drunk real fast.

Dante Pizza, i can pass on it
Dante Pizza, Cape Coral,Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat. After 5 years of receiving coupons I decide to give them a try. I went for the lunch special of 6.95 messzula sandwich or such.It was 2 bucks off the regular price. It also included a salad. This was a wednesday after noon. My server Stefanie did a outstanding job. As I was about to pick the ground beef item I was told they were out of ground beef. ( Hmmm a pizza joint out of beef in the midweek) Well I did not let it faze me. I tried the romano messzula sandwich.
My choice. A very bad choice. Now the ingredients were very fresh and it was toasted properly. But for me it suck. It was basically a pizza shell folded in half toasted with melted cheese arugula and some tomatoes. I hate arugula. I tried adding parmasan cheese, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes to improve the flavor. It was a classic no flavor no taste made item for the floridian and vegetarians palette.
My Server was very nice and told me I could exchange it for something else. I refuse I made the decision and did not want the eatery to pay for my bad choice.
But on a good note. The salad I was given was excellent.
No typical iceberg lettuce here. Olives a bit onions tomatoes and walnuts. Walnuts had to go though.
Anyway I will be back and try the coal fire pizza. I will wait for some more coupons though.

La Locanda, fabulous italian eatery and pizzaria
La Locanda Ristorante Italiano, Weavers Corner, North Fort Myers, Fl. Here is my 2 cents and some chit chat. This eatery has only been open for about 5 weeks. I had the Ravioli con Ricotta.
It was amazing. Pasta filled with ricotta cheese smothered in a delicate tomato sauce. I was not too hungry but my taste buds forced me to gobble it all down. MMMM good. I was given a taste of the chef creation of a chicken meatball.
I was dumbfounded. It was so light and delicate but filled with flavor. It is not on the menu yet but will be.
I was also served hot crusty bread and a classic salad.
This has to be one of the best meals I have had in a long time. I hope this is a start to a long tradition.
Note( they serve pizza by the slice for about 2 bucks ).
North Fort Myers is what I call a gourmet ghetto. Basic but outstanding fare at very reasonable prices.
If you are looking for outstanding food at reasonable prices this is where you search..
