Chen China Bistro, great food charming place

Here is my 2 cents on the food.
I order the kung pow beef.  POW it was extra spicy the way I wanted and ask for. Plus hot oil on the side.  They food was  terriffic. Fresh and quality items.
The hot & sour soup was good. A clear yet thick broth done to perfection. I was a happy trooper today.

Chit Chat. This is one of the best chinese eatery in the Cape. The surrounding were beautiful. The service was excellent. The staff did a wonderful job.. A bit more in price but the quality and service makes up for it. They have a card spend basically $100.00 get a free meal. Which I can see doing easily.  I was here at 1130 AM on monday.

So for good food in a charming surroundings give them a try.

Joe's Crab Shack, surprising good food

Here is my 2 cents on the food. First the drink.
Mardi gras sumething..U R only allowed 2. It was 8.50 but it was good/pretty and gave you a quick buzz. Appetizer,
crab stuffed mushrooms. MMM tasty lots of crab... good stuff......
33 shrimp for 11.99... This is why I came. Fried shrimp better tasting than any other fried shrimp I have had in SWFL so far. Cocktail could be more spicy but thats me.. Coconut shrimp.. this is not a favorite of mine...but my wifey and others luv it. There was a dipping sauce with I think had mango-pineapple in it. It actually made it very good and well recieved for me.
BBQ shrimp... I do not like peeling shrimp and it was a bit bland for me. BUT it was well saute and I did like it....Oh yes a large portion of french fries ...too much for me to consume. Over all a really good meal.

Chit chat.
The parking lot seems to be small if they should get busy.  I was here at 1140AM on a wednesday.  My server Sarah did an wonderful professional job..Kudos!  The bartender and cooks were terrific. Sometimes on a lunch schedule you get the 2nd string. These folks were all number 1 in my book.  The place was clean organize. It really has me coming back. Which is strange. I do not like chain eatery. But this was a good different

So if you had doubts put them aside and give Joe's a try.....

A Bite of Everything, Great coffee good food

Here is my 2 cents on the food. I must say the coffee was terriffic. It was strong not over powering and lacked any bitterness.
I ordered a ham melt with cheddar cheese. The ciabatta roll was great fresh and soft. The onions were saute to perfection and was just delish. The cole slaw was outstanding. Not the typical slaw.. Made with a red cabbage olive oil and a vinaigrette.Tasty.

Now chi chat.  This place has new owners. Only 30 days since the transfer from today date. So with all newbies there are a bit of issues. The website is out of date. I came here for waffles. Unfortunately not yet. But my ham melt was great. Beside the melt they had inhouse muffin and such. They are off to a good start. Plenty of parking easy access for those who need a Great cuppa joe or sandwich in the morn. So give a try give a chance. Good folks.

The Clam Bake, great chowdah and seafood

Here is my 2 cents on the food. The clam chowdah was great.
No added pepper, salt or crackers needed. MMM good.
I had fried oysters and the Boston Baked Beans I have never had oysters except from a can. Theses were good. Fried to a golden crisp. I did think the larger ones were a bit unusual. The texture as such. Now the beans. I was not impress. They tasted like the canned Van de Camp beans. Only their beans were smaller. I would pass on them next time.

Now the chit chat. I was there on a Saturday at 1145 AM. I really did not think it thru. It is a New England style seafood eatery. So a bit pricy...12.99 for a lunch menu.  Over all a great place. Service excellent,(thumbs up Jolene) Great flown in ingredients. Good food.
But bring a bit of cash or credit card.  NO American Express....

Ralph's Place, good for a reuben bad for the lungs

Here is my 2 cents on the food & drink.
The drink- Appleton rum and coke. It was mix properly and brought back memories of my adventure in Jamaica so many years ago. Now the reuben and fries.

The fries were skinny-thin. I prefer steak or thick fries. But for whatever reason I really enjoyed these french fries.. Hot crispy did not need added salt or a ketchup. The reuben... It was great toasted rye perfect melted cheese and the correct amount of sauerkraut.  Overall  a good sandwich.

Now a bit of chit chat. I did not realize this was a bar. BAR cigarettes smoke!!!! Lots of smokers. So be warned. There are tables outside. If the reuben is any indication of the other food this is a good place. Just make your adjustment and go. They do have carry out. Plus  a stream of patrons to go and the full liquor bar. My server did a excellent job. I was there 1145 AM on a wednesday.
So don't let the smoke get in your eyes but try the food.

Culvers, Pine Island, eh had better

Here is my 2 cents on the food. First the onions rings were good, crispy (and maybe a bit salty. But that could be me.) I got the 10 bucks basket deal.....
I order a sweet tea ,a cheese butter burger  with the works..with the rings)  I ask if they could make it medium rare. They stated no, which I expected. OK.  But it was overcooked and too dry. The works was WHERE WAS IT??? See my pic. A few onions a couple pickle slices. A tad of mustard, catsup and NO Mayo!!!!!

I thought maybe some lettuce & tomato. NOTHING.   Plus I ask for sweet tea. They gave me a cup to do myself serve thing. Maybe I was miffed but I did not see any sweet tea just soda and juices.

Some chit chat. All of the personnel were outstanding. Saying hello trying to help me out. The place was super clean. It was wednesday at 1035 AM.

This is only my second time I believe of going to a Culver's. Maybe a third. Not sure. I know this location has only been open a couple of days. I expect small issues. BUT not with the food content or the preparations of ingredients , I hope I am clear. One thing that urk me is the price. I did not feel I got my money worth. Two days ago I bought a burrito for 7.50. It was made to my exact instructions . It was big enough to fill me up for 2 meals.  This unfortunately did not. Plus you cannot qualify this as a cheap meal or for someone frugal.
I will be back in say 6 months and try again, maybe.

Super Taco, The BEST as you can get for a burrito in SWFL

Here is my 2 cents on the burrito.
This is hands down the best burrito I have found in The Cape Coral-Ft. Myers area. I come from San Francisco . Home of the original burrito. Create in the 1950's in the Mission District for the working stiffs. The burrito here is  a 2 two handed job. Without any sauce on top. They have rice, beans, choice of meat, cheese, sour cream, avocado if desire and jalapeno peppers. All for a reasonable 7 bucks. It fills your belly for at least 2 meals. Plus they give you chips and homemade sauce at no extra charge.

A bit of chit chat. They are located near the Walmart in North Myers. If you think that the wannabe so call mexican chains are good ( ie. T*co *ell, or that over priced small order at *hipole) Hence obviously you have never experienced real food or you are a Floridians. Which is basically the same.

So when in the urge of authentic burrito. Or other fast mexican  food you must come here.
