The Cafe, Family Dining, Great Reuben Sandwich

Here is my 2 cents on the food. WOW, I was blown away on the waitress referral. A reuben sandwich..
This has to be the BEST reuben since being in SW Florida
. First the bread. It was toasted light brown rye with the little seeds. Good. The right amount of sauerkraut and 1000 island dressing. Plus the correct cheese amount., AHHHH the meat!!!!!  The meat was thinly sliced, lean with the proper amount of fat marbling, for perfect flavoring. Plus ,I measured it,
2 inches thick of tasteful goodness. The fries were the right amount, hot/crispy. The cole slaw was creamy and delightful. It was a good meal..
I will be back to try other items.

Now Some chit chat... This is located in the Coralwood Mall.

The only other eatery is a chinese buffet.
This is your best bet for breakfast/lunch. Reasonable prices good portions & a great staff. Service was quick less then 10 minutes. This was at 11 AM on a Tuesday Plus they have waffles. My fave!   So if you are going for a bit of shopping or to see a movie Fill that belly up here. You will not regret it. At least on my visit. I love it.

Deep Down South BBQ, nothing but pork

Well I was in Ft. Myers for another issue. I had a new GPS. Gave a whirl on bbq in the area. Saw Deep Down remembered it from yelp....
I found the trailer in a small parking lot. No food truck just a trailer. No fans no tables no TV just sit in your car or take it home.  A line of 5-6 people on a Friday at  1 PM. I was feeling a bit carnivore. So decided on a slab of ribs.  Not the wimpy baby back ribs but the REAL HE MAN Cave Man spare ribs. You know the big ones with meat and some fat with a little gristle. People must like it here. BUT Floridian are not known for their culinary palette.

Anyway I got a 1/2 slab of ribs 14 bucks.
I  must say NOT too shabby. The sauce was a bit sweet. No sour vinegar flavor. Thank you very much. One of the better bbq places around. I'll come back later and try some sides and other southern entrees. So in the mean time come and get the ribs.

Ginger Bistro, almost like San Francisco ChinaTown

Here is my 2 cents. Lets start with the sweet and sour soup.
MMM good not as sour as in SF but it is right up there. I thought I was in The City minus the fog.  I had seafood and basil with jasime rice.
It may seem all rice is same its not, Jasime is more flavorable more delicate. This dish is wonderful. Plus I had the dim sum platter.
The most bang for your buck for your dim sum. Unless you are a veteran of dim sum try this. Buy ala carte can get pricey like sushi. Over all it s excellent.

Now chit chat. It is in a  nondescript mall. The interior is very nice.
My server Tapferer(?) did a great job. One hiccup was the owner brought me my  entree before my appetizer. No big deal it is all going in same place just a different order. It was all hot all good. Another observation was it is more expensive than eating in Chinatown, San Francisco. Prices are 3-4 dollar more per dish. But its really good food and no competition.. Beside flying to SF or NY for chinese meal is a bit crazy. I did miss the ambiance of cobble stones, crazy old chinese ladies and nick knack shops. So for a good time of food and frolic stop on in..

The Beef Guy, extraordinaire

Here is my 2 cents of the food & some chit chat.  WOW... This is the 3rd  Italian beef sandwich I have had in my life.. The 1st just suck. 2nd was good. This was outstanding!!!
I had to wait 45 minutes to munch on it.. Even cold it was great. The roll was soft and tasty. The beef was sliced correctly. The seasoning I felt was  perfect. When I am in my carnivore mode this is the place to hit. I am looking to try the hotdogs and fries next.
Check this place out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Monarca's, suprising really good mexican food

Well here is my 2 cents on food first.  I was so surprise as to how good this food is.
The chips and salsa was chilled and fresh. They have 2 types. one for all you wimpy folks, a modified catsup flavor. The 2nd for real Men. This salsas was smokey flavor with a slow burn, that kicks in at the end. It would be nice if they had a 3rd option middle of the road.
I tried the crush ice Margarita.
It was perfectly balance. At least for me.
The main entree beef enchilada.
Being from California for 30 years I have had my fill of mexican cuisine. Most of time they all taste the same. They did not not offer shredded beef but I got the ground beef. It was actually very flavorable and tasty. It was very unique in what I was use to. It was good.... They did not I offer and I forgot to ask for the traditional hot flour tortilla. It like bread. Always served with a meal.  Over all one of the best traditional meal since coming to Florida.

Chit Chat...

The appearance was like you are in Mexico. Seating is inside or  outside. Lots of TV.
I was here at 11 AM. My server was Stephanie. She did a great job. Music in the background.
I did think prices were high but its Florida. Not a lot of competition with other Mexican eatery.
Over all very good I will be back.

Advance Pain Management, is a pain

My 2 cents. I have been stuck going here for the last 30 months. Per feds regulation I need to see a certified pain doctor to get my pain pills. Now the folks here are nice and do their job well.
BUT....EVERY APPOINTMENT EVERY TIME FOR LAST 30  odd months. They have NEVER seen me on time. I have NEVER BEEN LATE. but I never see anyone until 45-60 minutes after my schedule time. When ask for a reason never a solid good one.
They do the job well I get my meds but always late for the appointment.

Smoke"n Pit, It really is the pits.

Folks here is my 2 cents on the food.
First the BBQ meats.
The pork ribs, brisket, chicken & such are smoke pretty much just right. The meats are good quality and lean. Thats where we start to go down hill. NO fat NO flavor. I need more flavor. Once this gets cold it sucks.
The sauce's .... what the hell is wrong with the Floridians and this obsession of vinegar. WHY SOUR???
Where is the sweet and savory? Is it they were just brought up wrong and do not know the difference. I ask for a hot sauce . I was offered BBQ hot sauce and Tabasco(this is vinegar). BBQ hot sauce was neither hot or good, just vinegar flavor. Now the salads and beans.
The only decent thing was the Cole slaw.
The potatoe salad again sour just nasty. Mac salad just plain.
Had the pickle tomatoe. WHY is this NOT sour?????
My toast was great and the french fries were excellent... Beans are claim to fame good. I do not know in what Universe. People with real taste buds would agree sour.. Nothing like Mexican refried bean, Brasilian black bean or My favorite sweet & savory( brown sugar & onions) Boston Baked beans.
This is my last visit here. Which is ashamed

Now chit chat. Wow the service was so excellent. All of the staff were fun and friendly. My meal was brought to me in under 7 minutes. Yes I timed it. I like the place.
So try at your own risk . If brought up in the south this is a place for you.
