Outback Steakhouse, Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chatter.
The food. 6 oz. top sirloin, side of fresh veggies, a drink( beer or pop) $9.99 on Wednesday only.
Ahhh ole fashioned times, a warm loaf of fresh bread/butter, More if you ask. A medley of fresh veggies steamed just right. The surprise, a cooked to a perfect medium rare top sirloin, that was very tender.
In this day it is nice to find a reasonable and good tasting steak.
Service and entire staff were great

Dante Coal Fire Pizza

Dante Coal Fire Pizza, Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is some chit chat and my 2 cents on the food.
Chit Chat... Pizza is a personal thing... Most are traditionalist and eat the normal italian style, thin crust or opt for a chicago type. Me I judge all pizza with the normal ingredients of pepperoni & mushroom and whether it taste good cold the next day. I have found the type of fire used does not make a big difference. ( Dante says it uses coal. ) Ok.
The food.  12 bucks for a small pepperoni & mushrooms. 2 dollars for each item ! Plus it did not seem the mushrooms were really fresh ( canned?) I needed to doctor the pie with pepper flakes ,basil and more cheese. The pie itself tasted fine BUT no big whoopie... Also the pie next day tasted bad cold.  :-(
That being said. I am better off going to costco and getting a 18 inch deluxe pie at only $10 !!!! I still need to add flakes . It taste good cold the next day & I have pie for the next few days or more if I freeze some.
Just not worth it . Too big of a chunk out of my wallet.

Mel's Diner

Mel's Diner, Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food, a rant and rave plus chatter.
The food. A mile high corned beef sandwich on rye, w/fries and coleslaw. Plus veggie soup.
I enjoyed the veggie soup very tasty. ( small portion) The coleslaw was very good. Not too sour just a bit sweet. But only 2 ounces not enough. Fries hot and crisp.
Corn Beef mile high... that's if mile high means 2 inches thick of processed meat , along with about inch thick per slice of rye bread. Bread was not toasted very well. Just enough to dry it out.
Corn beef is way too lean and processed. Nothing like this would be found in the 50's. No fat, no flavor per se.  Charge more get real corn beef with real flavor.
Rave... Service was great... server kept my tea filled.
Rant... Too hot in room too many old fogies.
Service was very good. Parking is very hard. It is even worst in winter time.

Bonefish Grill

Bonefish Grill, Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food, a rant & rave and chatter.
The food. Grilled trout, au gratin taters & green beans. 18 bucks. Way overpriced for frozen trout. It was a bit dry so I could tell it was frozen. I got two  side sauces. The basil was terrible. You can hardly taste the basil due to the excessive vinegar. Lemon butter ok more lemon than butter...Green beans small portion, made to a so call healthy crunchy style. Not so bad. Au gratin taters. Except for the texture of   chunks of potatos, this taste just like it came out of a box of dehydrated au gratin taters you buy at the grocery store for about one buck.
Rave... Water was served in an old fashioned glass milk bottle. Delish.
Rant... No bread or rolls served ....They make you spend $10 or more for a appetizer.
Parking is hard on a Sunday morn due to a eatery down the way.

Misto Bar & Grill

Misto Bar & Grill, Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food, rant & rave and chatter.
The food. Veal in a wonderful gravy, mash potato and asparagus,  plus house made garlic and butter rolls.
Oh yes a delish lentil soup seasoned to perfection. The rolls baked with just right the amount of garlic and butter that makes the hand a bit messy and so good. Ahhh asparagus cooked to just crunchy goodness. Taters whipped to delight and veal in a comforting gravy.
Rant... I hate these salt & pepper grinders which are everywhere.
Rave... One of the best eateries in the The Coma.. Advertising is word of mouth. A must try place.
This is where you go to dine .....You do not just chow down... A good culinary experience.

Hart & Soul Cafe

Hart & Soul Cafe, Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food, rant & rave and chatter.
The Food. Tomato soup with basil & a Philly steak sandwich with mushrooms. The soup. was wunderbar... Smooth yet a bits of tomato with basil leaves swimming around. No need to season more. The Philly. A medium toasted roll, with excellent thinly slice mushrooms, onions , beef, and such cooked to perfection. With just the right amount of pepper jack cheese. Sandwich was just sloppy enough.
Rave... they have just regular salt and peppers  shakers ...yeaaaaa!
Rant... had parking due to the gym down the way.
The service was great.. This is a nice cozy place for breakfast and lunch

Scooters

Scooters, Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral,Fl., Here is my 2 cents.
Aside from Scooters, Star Bocks or Dumpkins all chains......There is only one independent drive thru coffee joints. On ( Expresso to go) Hancock Bridge Pkwy.
Scooters is from all places Nebraska. I was a bit sleepy and needed a wakeup.
I am a traditionalist, so I just got  regular cup of coffee. Large, 20 ounces. 6 sugar and cream. $2.50 or so....
OBA OBA! I was truly suprize and jolted. This coffee was strong. I liked it.  So much better than Stars. I will need to make adjustment for my next visit.
Beside just real strong coffee they have a choice of other drinks plus food, like the other joints. Service with a smile and very quick.
Give them a try for drinks.

Athenian Restaurant

Athenian Restaurant, Tamiami Trail, N. Fort Myers, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food, a rant & rave a bit of chatter.
The Food. 9 bucks for a full ole fashion meal. In this case if you are german descent. Pork ribs with sauerkraut, mashed taters/gravy, house made coleslaw and housemade chicken noodle soup.
Almost like mother use to make. It may not tickle your taste buds, BUT more than you needed it fills your belly without emptying your wallet. ( plus many other entrees at this price )
Soup was good.
Rave... Good chow without breaking the  bank.
Rant...Too bad other places do not do this.
Service was great... Makes you feel like you are at a home..

House of Omeletes

House of Omelets, Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food, a rant & rave and chit chat.
The food. A hamburger with a side  vegetable beef soup. The soup. House made and just wonderful. Plenty of beef and lots of flavor. I wish it was a cold day to have a big bowl... Hamburger with basic drag thru the garden stuff cooked to a perfect medium rare. Which makes it tasty, juicy and very messy.
Rave... Excellent side dish besides french fries.
Rant... I hate the ciabatta buns they use now for burgers, I prefer the ole fashion buns.
Chatter. Outstanding, staff are very quick and so efficient. Always a joy to come here.

Hana Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Lounge

Hana Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Lounge, Hancock Bridge Pkwy, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food, A rant and rave. A bit of chatter.
The food. A bento box...Teriyaki steak, miso soup, salad, and sushi. 10 bucks or so
This was a excellent meal. Miso soup was delish, salad cold and crunchy. Sushi very good.
The server ask me how I wanted the steak. ( medium rare of course )
Overall a great experience.
Rave... food is outstanding.
Rant... Not crazy about background music.
Server did outstanding job. Easy parking.

Chinese Express

Chinese Express, Hancock Bridge, Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents of the food.
I will be short and sweet. I ordered the kung pao chicken. It had chunks of chicken, baby corn, and mushroom. Plus other stuff. (see pic).. It smelled good the consistory was good.
Being from the San Francisco-Bay area. I have had my share of kung pao.  BOTTOM LINE...
THIS WAS THE WORST EVER. iT TASTED HORRIBLE.
Never order this.

Slates

Slates, Candia Ave, Cape Coral,Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food, rant & rave plus chatter. The food.
Today brunch item. 8 oz. ribeye, with 2 eggs, a salsa on top and house potatoe. Cooked medium rare of course. A carnivore delight prepared to specifications. To be honest I prefer the traditional way. of just the steak alone. But this was very good. I had a cocktail called a Pimm, delightful.
And of course the very unique  New Orleans beignet . Served hot and so sweet. It came with some type of I believe raspberry sauce . I hated this too sour.
Rave... Always wonderful and exquisite  food.
Rant...Not able to afford to eat here more often.
Service was outstanding. Plus a New Orlean band playing in the background.

Jamaican Sunrise

Jamaica Sunrise  / WC Grocery Store, Pondella Rd., North Fort Myers, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food, a rant and a rave plus chatter.

The Food. OBA OBA...The oxtails were melt in the mouth and so tasty, peas and rice delish. Just like in Montego Bay. The jerk chicken to die for with a oh so spicy hot sauce with such robust flavor on the side.

Curry goat and ribs to name a few more. Buy the pound or in a small/large meals.  For dessert sweet potato pudding pie. Lip smacking good.

Chatter...Service was fine. A hole in wall place situated in a tiny grocery store. Lots of parking.

Rave...A stomach too small, unable to eat more !!!

Rant... I had to find this in a advertisement.

First Round Draft

First Round Draft, Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food, chatter and rant & rave.
Chatter... I came here to try a burger... This is a typical sports bar so what he.ll I was suprize at the daily menu. Lobster ravioli and shrimp. I got shrimp.
The food.  Torpedo shrimp. Coated in panko crust and fried shrimp. Fries and coleslaw. Wow I was taken aback. The shrimp was delish, Coleslaw not too sweet not too sour. Fries just right. Plus clam chowder for 4 bucks. Tasted right and a good deal.
Service was outstanding.
Rave... a sports bar with excellent food. Parking for your boat.
Rant... I did not know of this sooner.

3 Fisherman

3 Fisherman, N. Cleveland Ave., North Fort Myers, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food, rant and rave and chatter.
The food. 15 bucks AYCE fish. A good deal. A variety of fish and a variety of how you wish to have it cooked. I sampled the fried catfish, blackened cod and a surprise for me.. Plus a side of coleslaw . That was just okay. I tried the rice pilaf.  Ehh very plain no flavor per se.
Rave... All you want of fish and different ways to prepare.
Rant... The sides have much to be desire...not so good.
Easy parking, this  summer special is good only on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Service was fine.

Izzy's Fish & Oyster

Izzy's Fish & Oyster, First Street, Ft. Myers, Fl.  Here is my 2 cents on the food, rant & rave and chatter.
The Food. I got a cup of clam chowder...5 bucks..They do a twist on clam chowder. Which is a good thing! I like new stuff.  BUT this suck...Too watery, uses onion, little if any potato or clams. and they add oyster crackers before you can taste the item...THIS IS WRONG.
Entree... linguini and clams...18 dollars ( see photographs before and after ) First I felt robbed at the small portion. The freshness of clams is nice...but for me to individually take out the meat from the shell is way too much work. They added a twist of HOT chili flakes at the bottom of the ( small portion) entree. I love my food ,Like I love my women Hot & Spicy. Here it does not work. They also gave me a small piece of some bread or muffin. Terrible. No Flavor. No buttery taste. Bad texture.
Rave....Wonderful staff did a outstanding....(Jeniffer)
Rant.... Over price entree and twist that do not work yet.
Chatter. Be advise as of this writing they have just NOW open. So expect issues with  staff but never food.
