Ceno Grille, Cape Coral Parkway, W., Cape Coral, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food, rant & rave and chit chat.
The food. Moussaka, its a greek style lasagna. Along with some potatoes. $ 16.00 I have never had this dish before so I went for it. It was just plain. No spices. NOTHING to excite my taste buds. A real disappointment. The potatoes were close to the point to being burnt.
Rants... Too expensive no entree under 12 bucks most are 16 dollars...Even on the Lunch menu.
Rave... The Coke was good it tasted like Pepsi
Chatter. service was good. My barber said this was a good place to eat. Well just by the prices alone I will not be back.

Teriyaki Madness
Teriyaki Madness, Santa Barbara Blvd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food, rant & rave, plus chatter.
The food. I had the signature chicken teriyaki bowl with veggies, Plus the beef teriyaki plate with a side of macaroni. Overall very good for new chain eatery. I like them both. A medium sweet. Plus you can add hot sauce or extra soy sauce to change up your taste buds. The macaroni could use a bit more mayo but wonderful flavor.
Rant..I did not like that you had to pay extras for noodles or other items. It can jump up your price for a meal. Also pricey for a side of 2 oz. It's a buck fifty. :-(
Rave... Good to see a more diversity of food in the Cape...Plus a drive thru.
Chatter. With younger and more open minded folks coming here this is a excellent start for the Coma..The Cape. Service was wonderful.

Bubba Roadhouse & Saloon
Bubba Roadhouse & Saloon, Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food, a rant and rave, some chatter.
The food. Rib eye steak, green beans, and chicken/sausage gumbo soup, corn muffins. The gumbo soup was the best I have had since being in SWFL. I even had a 2nd serving. Outstanding stuff , house made. Rib eye cooked to medium rare, perfection ,tender. green beans with bacon /onions just a bit crunchy. Fresh baked corn muffins with a tad of jalapenos.
This meal was excellent.
Rave... the gumbo soup is to die for...Drinks are only 4 bucks compare to others at $7 for the same items. ( brandy & coke)
Rant... Do not like it... but stuck with it... you smell like a campfire when you leave. :-(
Service by Katie was fantastic. Will make this a regular stop.

Tasty Culture
Tasty Culture, Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food, rave & rant, plus chatter.
The food. I got a sausage, mash potatoe and red cabbage. Oh yes the house made soup cheese and beer. The soup was as advertised, cheese made with a beer., Not bad. The sausage and cabbage were
what you expect. Mash taters dry without a gravy or butter.
Rave... I love they play soothing music not the tired rock and roll you here all the time in other eateries.
Rant... $2.25 for a can of soda...outrageous..Cost at Coscto is 38 cent each.
Overall a nice eatery, good service what you expect for a polish/german joint.

New England Mooring
New England Mooring, SE 16th Pl., Cape Coral, Fl. Here is some chit chat and my 2 cents on the food.
Chatter. If you know of this eatery, you should go more often. If you never have heard of or been to you are missing out. This is a funky kitschy restaurant that is old school Florida. Granted the outside is showing a bit of worn. Its the quality, quantity and prices. That you enjoy.
NOTE: This is the ONLY eatery that gives you FREE samples of their various items. Without asking. This is a SOP of the owners.
The food. A taste of their margaretta was outstanding. Best I ever had. ( no brandy here :-( )
I got the fried green tomatoes. Wonderful. A sample of the bread sticks, crunchy.. Main entree Chefs seafood platter... WOW your taste buds have a orgasm that tells you ALL the shrimp, fish, scallop etc. are fresh as can be. Ahh but one thing they fall down on, the house made tartar sauce. Not enough flavor too much mayo.
A tasting of the Irish cannoli finished a outstanding meal...
You must try this local institution...Just a block off Del Prado.
Service was great.

Hardees
Hardees, Palm Beach Blvd., Ft. Myers, Fl.,Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
The food. Double cheezeburger, onion rings and chocolate shake with whipped cream on top. 9 bucks.
First only chocolate and strawberry shakes. NO vanilla though its the number one flavor in the country. But it was thick and tasty. Cheezeburger, tasted like the cheeseburger when McDees first came out, passable. Onion rings. chopped minced onions formed into a ring, enough said.
Over all just what you expect at a corporate chain burger joint.
Service was fast. Place was cleaned. They brought you your meal if dining in
Here on the east coast its Hardees , on the correct ,west coast the proper name is Carl's,jr.
Just the same food that the unsophisticated palette of young folks , which at one time included me. Youngster and rednecks prefers overpriced, over sex commercial, over salted, over cooked and fast.
Typical eatery. Enjoy!!!!

Uncle Angelo's Restaurant & Pizzeria
Uncle Angelo's Restaurant & Pizzeria, Santa Barbara Blvd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chatter. First the food.
Veal Parmigiana with pasta and Sunday sauce. 15 bucks. OBA OBA...WOW WOW. This entree was magnificent. It pass my criteria of flavor, quantity and prices. The veal was at least 12 inches in size. ( see pic I measured it) The Sunday sauce was perfectly season. No need for additional salt or pepper. Plus a good portion of pasta. I needed to take it half of it home for a 2nd or 3rd meal.
Bread... mmmm good garlic knots. Then the salad.
As of this writing it has only been open for 2 weeks or so. The vision of this place is for the locals and working stiffs. So changes will be forthcoming except for the taste and quality of the food.
Service was great and quick.
A reminder great food takes time.
This is a must try place. Ahh pizza will be my next report.

My Sweet Art
My Sweet Art, Nicholas Pkwy., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
The Food. Coffee & Croque Monsieur, 10 bucks. Basically a heavenly ham and cheese sandwich... It is smoked ham, toast and bechamel. It was light, filling, and just wonderful for the taste buds. A so much better and sophisticated delight. Plus a green salad. I thought the salad could be more chilled.
I sample a small taste of a macaroon. So sweet so good. Plus the blueberry cheesecake. MMMMM good. I just loved it. I bought a slice of cheesecake, bigger than other places in the area, 4 bucks. OMG so good.
This has to be the only French style eatery in the Cape. The Chef/owner is french.
Service was great. Everything is made fresh that day.
So if you have a sweet tooth this your place

Ichiyummy
Ichiyummy, Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents and some chatter. I am a beef and taters male. Now I have found a bit of fish bait is good for the body. This place covers it all. Meat and fish. At lunch time its 13 bucks AYCE. They have a picture menu of what they serve. Though they serve small portions they ENCOURAGE you to eat as much as you want. ;-)~~~ including dessert ice cream.(included)
Quality, quantity and a fair price for seafood Makes this my top place when I need veggies and fish.
Service is great.

Point 57 Kitchen and Cocktails
Point 57 Kitchen and Cocktails, Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
I went here for Sunday brunch. I got apple fritters 6.00, sweet tea 2.50, and Chef choice quiche 14 bucks. Drinks are all you drink ,plus they lay claim to of fresh squeeze OJ, lemonade and Limeade. The sweet tea is house made. It was sweeten just right. Apple fritters were golf balls size dough fried with powder sugar. Though very good with apples. I did not find any chunks of the apple per se.
The Chef quiche was sausage ,cheese ,and green onions. The crust was excellent. Nice and flaky. I like my eggs soft. So I am not sure if the quiche had lots of cheese or undercooked the eggs. It tasted wonderful.....( If my wife had gotten this it would have been sent back.) Also a side salad with a delightful vinaigrette. (A offering of some type of bread, toast or roll should have been included.) I do question them putting the hot quiche and chilled salad on the same plate...thats me.
This is where you go to dine. Not chow down.
You should dress a bit better in casual. No flip flops or baseball caps. No miss match clothing. This is not for the rednecks.
Service was good. Overall, a definitely will come back.

The Doner
The Doner, Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and chit chat.
Some chatter.. this is suppose to be a copy of street food that is popular in Germany. I am half german so I know how good German food is....eechh...It is not. This is no different. Plus street food should be cheap and filling. Again NO.
The Food. $7.50 + 2.50 for a drink (12oz cup). The Doner Box. Beef & lamb like they when they offer to get you for a gyro. It was dry and tasteless. The fries were cold and the feta cheese with yogurt sauce was just wrong. Plus the box that it came in ,was the size of a pint you find at a take out chinese eatery.
I am adventurous when it comes to food and such. My adventure here was a failure.
Not worth the money or the taste.
Other items maybe ok BUT when this is your signature dish. NNNOOOOOOO

Daves Banging BBQ
Dave's Bangin BBQ, Palm Ave., North Fort Myers, Fl., Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat.
The food.As a carnivore bbq brisket is my favorite. So I got a dinner plate with 2 sides. $9 bucks. Well I was here on a bad day for Daves. First I was given the same 2 sides. Beans. They were just ok. Not very spicy or full of flavor. My brisket was a small portion and undercooked. ( see photo). I was given a large burger bun. You expect bread but not a bun. What was cooked tasted fine. But not worth a 2nd trip.
2 choices for a sauce. I passed. I prefer Cattleman BBQ. Sweet and hot.
As of now they are open 11-2 M-Sat. Plus its only take away. No place to sit except in your car. If they are still around in 60 days I will revisted.
