El Pollo Rico,, ( The Rich Chicken) good fusion food

El Pollo Rico, ( The Rich Chicken) Avenue A, Bokeelia, Fl., Here is a bit of chit chat and my 2 cents on the food.
By the name you would think it is mexican or so. It is a fusion of a variety of cuisine. A big cock is the symbol  for the eatery.  But it is a large rich rooster.
Lets start with the food. They make their own sweet tea. I liked it. But I would have prefered it more sweet. Thats me.
A good and different roll.
Unique to this menu, a pork steak with grilled onions. First time I have EVER seen a pork steak on a menu in my life. The steak was bigger than I thought. They cook it to your specification. It was good. But I needed to take half of it home.

Rice and beans. The rice was special. I think it was jasmine? I am not sure? it was a very tasty short grain rice. Black beans were good but I needed some hot sauce. Thats me.
I took home their version of fried chicken. I must say it was delicious
. Fried to perfection, crispy. It is not a southern style meal. But it is good . And for something different worth the drive.
Oh yes the oh so decadent carrot cake. Yummy.
The service was outstanding. I give it a 4.5 stars over all. ( I am stingy with 5 stars)
So take the trip and do a new experience.

Foster Grille, good hamburger

Foster Grille, Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral,Fl., Here is some chit chat and my 2 cents on the food.
I have been seeing and receiving coupons for this place. This has been happening for a couple of years. I finally caved in.  $4.99 for a 1/4 lb. burger, drink and fries.

I order my burger med. rare. I was told medium is better because this size burger falls apart. OK.
I had it dragged thru the garden.
They promptly brought me my meal. WOW it was cooked to perfection and very tasty. I am not a big burger fan, but this meal was excellent.
Folks were nice. Service was good. Kudos to Mary.

Fabio Ristorante, Is still Fabulous

Fabio Ristorante, Hancock Bridge Rd.,North Fort Myers, Fl., Here is my 2 cents and some chit chat.
Chit chat.. This  wonderful eatery is located in a plain strip mall. When you enter it is a quaint and delish Italian ristorante.

Lets start with the salad, though a simple lettuce salad it is made great by the in house made creamy italian dressing. So good.
I then had garlic bread with cheese.. Ahh to die for. The bread is from California and or New Jersey. They are unable to make their proper bread here due to the heavy humidity. MMMM this is so good.
Now my favorite Linguine with loads of fresh cut garlic and clams. Garlic good for the blood bad for the breath... But so damnnnn worth it. NO precut garlic fresh cut every day or so by hand.
This place has been here for years. If you have never seen an ad, it is because folks who love outstanding Italian cuisine keep it a secret and pass this gem on to their close compadres.
Now the secret is out. Check for the website... Go and enjoy.

Pho Plus, a ok food

Pho Plus, Del Prado Blvd, Cape Coral, FL. Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat.
First the Tea. Loved it. I could drink 5-6 at a time.
The spring rolls. Fresh and crisp so delish. Loved the sauce with the peanuts
Now the menu has the traditional name of each entree. The english names. A number . And a pretty good picture of the food it self. Being a man I am a visual type. So I pick by picture..
I got a pad thai. Basically a noodle dish. I went with the server suggestion of a combo. Chicken and shrimp.
The dish arrived beautiful and hot. Combo plate it was so not. 2...2 shrimp that's it. Plenty of white chicken meat...It tasted good. But why am I spending extra bucks for only 2 shrimp.
I should have had at least 6.
This is my only and biggest issue.. The service was fine. Also there did not seem to be a cheaper menu for lunch. But that another story.

So take this as you may.

El Mambo, Still best breakfast in town

El Mambo, Del Prado Blvd, Cape Coral, Fl., Here is some chit chat and 2 cents on the food.
This is the best place for a standard breakfast. 5 Bucks, 3 eggs, choice of meat, choice of bread coffee or fresh squeeze OJ.

This is one of five places I know that offers fresh squeeze OJ in SWFL.
Great service good cuban food.
This is the original place. They have been around for years in the Cape.
The only issue parking can be a problem.
But if you want a great breakfast come here.

Lotus Falafel, good mediterranean food

I decided to try something different. So I popped in here and got a combo plate to go. I must say they were not crowded. BUT the phone and pick up area were very busy. While I waited folks were coming and going. This is a good sign.
When I got home I was a bit surprised. I was not sure what I order. But it smelled delish. It  was delish.
My biggest surprise beside it tasting good, I found out it was healthy too. WOW.
Place was clean and folks were nice. So for a change of pace give Lotus a try.

Englund Deli II, best in the Coma

Englund Deli II, Del Prado, Cape Coral, FL., If you are looking for a great sub sandwich in the Cape, look no further.

The sandwiches are made to order lots of meat and so tasty. FORGET about those chains places This is where you need to go. It may be small a bit divey but great quality and good prices.

India's Grill, good buffet

India's Grill, Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers, Fl. Here is my 2 cents and some chit chat.
I must say this is good Indian chow. If you have never had indian food or like indian food I found this place pretty tasty. As of this writing the lunch buffet is $10.99.

The food was fresh and eye appealing. They had a good sampling of vegetarian stuff. Be warned when it is said spicy it is. Plus it creeps up on you.

Beside a buffet they have a full menu of various indian food.
The servers may be slow but they were very nice and helpful.
So if you are adventurous try this place. Do Not forget the goat curry.LOL

The Beef Guy, Chicago Tamales???

The Beef Guy, Santa Barbara Blvd., Cape Coral, FL., Here is some chit chat and 2 cents on the food.
CHICAGO TAMALES!!!!
I never heard of such a thing. I was on their website and lo and behold tamales. ( Note: As of this writing they have $2 hotdogs on Tuesday)
Back to tamales. I was told this is a common street vendor food in the Windy City.
They serve them 2 ways, plain or with onions, cheese and, chili. I had the both.
I must say there were different from mexican style.  But they were delish.
Then again everything seems good here. Pork Loin, Italian beef sandwich etc.
Folks are great too. So stop on in and give them a try.
