Cowboy Crab And Seafood,N. FT. Myers, Here is my 2 cents and some chit chat.. First some chit chat. This is a market first and a eatery 2nd. It is primary a take-out but has 4 wooden picnic tables to seat down. I heard of this place in the local paper. It claim to fame was garlic crabs. I was here on a Friday at noon time.
Lets start with the veggies. boiled potatoes and corn on the cob. Cooked throughly with the garlic and butter. Not too bad. The shrimp is cooked with the legs and shell on. I thought it was over cooked. Too rubbery.
The crab and leggs were cooked well with lots of garlic. You could break them with your teeth but a hammer is better. Great if you love garlic. I also had a crab cake. The sauce was fine but the cake it self was terrible. ( see pic).
Though it appeared to have much crab, it was burnt. My wife who does not cook does a better job. Not much flavor here.
Over all it was very messy and took too much effort to get at the little meat inside the crabs and legs.
So if you enjoy getting messy and working for the meal give it a try. I guess I am spoiled and do not like this.

Beach Brothers BBQ, a 2nd look
Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat combined. This is my second visit here. I came for the beef brisket. It is only offered on Monday. BUT lets start with the sides. They stated they make all items in house. This time I tried the Pasta salad. WOW. This is the best pasta salad I have tasted since locating here in The Coma. I must also say it rivals in my opinion, comparing to the pasta salad of those in the San Francisco Area. Perfectly balanced not too oily not too sour. Pasta is cooked well.
The dirty rice is still the best here. I also love the mac and cheese. The sides have it going on here.
Beef Brisket.
Brisket is subjective. I thought in this case it was on the dry side. I believe they trimmed too much of the fat. I understand being healthy. This was quality meat. BUT fat is flavor and it keeps your brisket moist and more tender. I have eaten and cooked my share of brisket for last 30 odd years. I will be back to taste again.
A note on the sauces. The sauces here were fine. It is typical southern stuff. I am partial to the midwest and Texas style. It should be thick, sweet and hot/spicy. ( The way a woman is supposed to be be also.)

Casa Rojas Cuban Bakery and Cafe, not bad cuban sandwich, ok bake goods
Here is my 2 cents on the food and chit chat mixed in. I was here for three things. Chocolate eclairs,
empanadas,
and supposedly good cuban sandwich.
The eclairs were ok. Smaller than you find in the real bakeries of italian or french origin. If you have travel south of the border or in the far east you know they do not have a sweet tooth. Europeans makes things sweeter and bigger.
Plus being in Cape Coral or SWFL there is a void of outstanding italian and french bakeries.
The empanadas... are unmarked and you take a chance of what you get. (NOTE: Most workers though very nice and helpful can be limited when speaking english. As this their second language. This is my observation.) Mine was ground beef and very tasty. The crust was light and flaky. I would like more meat less crust.
Now the the cuban sandwich. Casa Rojas has been touted as one of the best cuban sandwiches in the area.. I am not from Cuba or Florida. I have had only 2-3 cuban sandwiches in my life. I did like it. Bread was crispy and soft. The meat was tasty. Cheese was ok. The pickles added a good variation to it. BUT what is the big deal. It is basically just a hot ham and cheese sandwich. The only difference is the dill pickles.
Overall this is a nice place for people with a mild palette. Folks are great, product is good ingredients excellent.
I will be back for the eclairs.

Kreips and Juices, for whole family
Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat. I came here on $5 wednesday. Most crepes are five bucks. I got a simple crepe and authentic one. Ham and cheese
. It was hot and tasty. Crepe was light and fluffy. I also down a Berry Berry juice.
Healthy and just sweet enough
.
Chit chat. This is a place for a diverse horde of people. The have sweet to savory-healthy to the right way of eating.
Note: They have one of the very few places where you can get squeezed in front of you orange juice.
So if you are in need of a different but familiar meal come here. If you need to satisfy the chocolate or sweet tooth come here. If interested in a healthy or not so healthy drink...I believe they can customize it for you.
On Wednesday $5 crepes.
Sunday $3 ice cream as of the writing.

Texas Roadhouse, big on portions.
Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat. Went here for lunch on MLK day. I got a free appetizer, fries-cheese-bacon
. Had 6 oz. sirloin, salad and green beans.
I must say the fries were massive too much for one person. My salad cold, fresh and crispy. It was great. Green beans cooked with bacon, gotta love them. My sirloin steak med-rare. just fine.
Chit chat... This place is only open 4- closing. The holidays it open for lunch. My favorite time.
I have a couple of issues. One I was not allowed the 8.99 early bird special. It was before 6 PM and it was not mention ANYWHERE on the menu that I could not get it. But I was denied it.
Also with a e mail I was given a free appetizer. Only 3 choices. Why could I not get another appetizer not listed if I was willing to pay extra. I really wanted to try the jalapeno one.
I would think being a regular client there be more clarifications and flexibility
Over all not bad peanuts and good buns. Service was great.

Stevie Pages Sports Page, pass
Here is my 2 cents on the food and chit chat. I got their self proclaimed ,best grouper sandwich in SW Florida.. Lets start with the good. The pickle was garlicky and crunchy. Fries hot & crispy. Grouper sandwich..
.It SUCKED. I asked for a blacken spicy fish sandwich. I told my server I wanted it Mexican HOT NO Indian ghost pepper hot. I GOT NEITHER. Plus the fish was barely cooked through. When you say blacken it means BLACK as a hole in outer space.. Also the bun was too wet. The tomatoe slice was so thin I could read a newspaper thru it. And why a sports bar who offers primary a chicago style pizza ,would even entertain the mere thought of having the best grouper sandwich is beyond me.
They also claim to have good ribs. What person told them of this fantasy I have no idea.
On the good side the server was very good. From what I saw of the food I admit the quality was there.
They just do not know how to execute the entrees . They need to stop boasting and make the food actually good. If it is good enough people like me will advertise it as such. Then folks will come knocking down the doors.

Original Pancake House, good food service ehhh
Here is my 2 cents on food and chit chat. Lets do this in timely order. Saturday, January 16, 2016 945 AM. I arrived and there were people waiting. I gave my name and got a pager. There was 3-4 groups of 4 folks each. I waited for 15 minutes. All the folks ahead of me were gone. I got up and saw there were tables available for me. ( party of 1). I brought this to the attention of host/hostess. I was quickly seated. My server was Ellie. I knew what I wanted.
OJ, coffee, Regular waffle, eggs over easy, links. Ellie took my order brought me my drinks.. 20 minutes later folks at the table next to me, who came in AFTER me were eating. Ellie was aware of the problem. She did look into it but could not offer any explanation. 29 minutes after being seated/ordered , my meal arrives. I was literally 1 minute away of walking out. Another server brought me my meal. Ellie apologize profusely.
The eggs were cooked to perfection, links were hot, and waffle was hot and crispy as it should be.
The meal it self was very good. But how hard is it to mess up a american breakfast.
So food was good except coordination of bringing the meal to the folks ehhhh.
Oh yes they have eating challenge. The challenge is. eat 8 scrambled eggs,6 sausage links, 6 bacon, 12 pancakes, 1 apple pancake all of it in 45 minutes. If you do you get a $100.00 gift card and the meal is free.
If you lose you pay $ 29.95

Larry's LunchBox, a good jewish deli
Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat.. I went for the ruben. Real rye bread with those caraway seeds as it should be. Toasted with butter. Sauerkraut, melted cheese and corned beef. Ahh the way it is suppose to be.. Hot large and filling.
I also tried my very first time matzo ball soup.
According to the local food critic the best in the area. I have never had this. It was real good. Excellent for a cold day or if you are sick. Good comfort food. But it really just comes down as a chicken soup. Which all cultures have in one form or another.
Over all good food good folks. I do suggest you check the website and order ahead. Also check for hours. They are still working theses out. As of this writing 1000 AM to 300 PM...M-F
