Miceli's, Italian cuisine, Turkey feast

Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat. First some chit chat and why I am giving it 5 stars.
They offered a 25 buck buffet for  turkey day...This is a place that's located on the waterway in which you can pull up and berth your dingy. They had lots of outside umbrella covered tables. There was lots of booths and table inside.
The personnel... WOW.... everyone was very nice with great big smiles..happy like Stepford wives would be.. (maybe it was the added 18% gratuity being  enclosed today..LOL...but worth it)
I was warned to get here early... I did... They open early. 15 minutes before the schedule 11 AM time.
(note by 1130AM it was getting filled up)
So I staked out my table and dug in.
They had a carving table of prime rib cooked to the  perfection of medium rare. It was sliced thin ,but you could ,and I did make 3 return visits.

The au jus was delightful, but unfortunately the horseradish sauce was too watery. Good but watery.
I sampled the dark turkey, white turkey and the ham. Except for the ham which was a touch on the dry ,though in a sweet sauce. Everything was delish. the dressing, sweet potatoes, mash potatoes, cookies, clams ,pumpkin pies.
The management stop by my table and ask for my criticism . Which I gave. I made my customary 3 grazing trips at the buffet. (you need to get your money's worth and belly filled)  It was so worth it.
By the time I left, the place was filling up and the parking was full.
I will definitely be back and try the regular items.
You all need to come on down!!!!

Prime de Leon, a good but pricey steak place

Here is a bit of chit chat and my  2 cents on the food. We went there for my birthday lunch. It was not crowded.  Plus being lunch time there were restrictions on menu items. We were first served up some very delicious bread. It had a side of tasty olive oil.
. I needed to restrain myself.
My wife order a wonderful philly cheese steaks with sweet potatoes fries.
Good choice. I got a medium rare rib eye steaks with house frites.
The steak was cooked to perfection and frites were excellent. Being lunch time it was empty except for another couple. So service was good. The decor and ambiance was very pleasant.
Over all a wonderful relaxing experience.

Salty Papa Shrimp house, MMMM jambalaya

Here is my 2 cents on the food. I was here after a quick stop in costco. It was early 11AM. I was the first customer of the day. I ordered the in house made sweet tea. It was fine just not outstanding. The menu was very long. It took me a while to peruse it. I found my item jambalaya.

Not very many places make  jambalaya. If they do, it is not too good.. This was good. almost as good as mine.
It was full of shrimp, sausage and chicken.  They used a lot of white chicken I prefer dark meat.  It was spicy enough for me so I did not have to add extra hot sauce. It is the way jambalaya is suppose to be made. Most likely too much for floridians taste buds. But that's their loss.
My only concern was the celery. It was a bit too crunchy. But they make it fresh everyday due to it popularity. I arrived when they just open. Oh yes they serve a lightly toasted garlic bread with the jambalaya. So you can slurp up all the juices.

Anyway it was wonderful dish I see why it is the 2nd most popular entree on the menu.
Oh yes a thumbs up to Louis my server he did a great job.

Habaneros Mexican Grill, your typical chain place

Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat. Well about the food. It really is just your typical mexican type chain place
. I had their wannabe ground beef burrito with sauce and a side of chile rellenos.Rellenos was a good stuffed pepper with lots of cheese.
(Note.. the burrito is a american thing created in 1950's in San Francisco, Ca)  It was fine nothing to get excited about.
Do not let the name of habaneros fool you. The sauces and salsa is just mild stuff. NO hot pepper at all. I ask for and got some jalapeno peppers inside my entree...it was still boring. I requested the habaneros salsa. It tasted fine but NO, NONE ... absent of heat at all.  Just fine for boring floridians  taste buds.

The prices were reasonable portions fair. My server Francis, was outstanding. She a great job!! But as far as real mexican stuff NO. There are better real mexican eateries  a mile or so away.

Beach Brothers BBQ, BBQ in The Cape

Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat. First the food. Well it is typical southern bbq. Ribs and chicken. With add your own table sauce. Hot( not very) and smokey. The ribs were good lean ,meaty ,and fell off the bones
. I had 2 sides, Mac and dirty rice. Not many places have dirty rice. Plus the kicker is this is OUTSTANDING spicy  dirty rice. I loved it. The mac' cheese was great like your momma would make. Over all a good place.
Now some chit chat. This is the first good tasting BBQ in Cape Coral. The other chain places are just that mediocre chains.
It is located off a main drag ,Del Prado, in a strip mall around the corner.Plenty of parking. The folks are great and prices are reasonable.
So if you are in search of local bbq try these folks.

(I was disappointed I am still on a quest for Texas style beef brisket. With a good sauce.)

The Office, a bit of sophistication comes to The Cape

Here is my 2 cents and some chit chat.. I went out to eat lunch and instead I dined. As of this writing The Office has only been open for 2 days.. I must say it was a wonderful experience. The food was fabulous. I had the french version of roast chicken with mash potatos and veggies.

It was divine.
Now the dine was the atmosphere.  An elegant interior. Nice table settings and NO  salt or pepper shakers. To be honest the food did not need it... NO TV..NO WIFI. Soft music in background. A place for folks to enjoy a meal. Or to have quiet whispers for a date.... or to discuss business matters. They are open for now from 1130 AM to 3 PM for lunch and 5 PM to 11 PM for dinner. Take out is available only at lunch.
Parking might be an issue limites street and private available. . Only 1 handicapped space on the side near the ramp.
So if interested in dining and not grabbing a quick meal check out this place and expand your tastebuds.

Two Peas Cafe, OUTSTANDING pies, pretty good lunch

Here is my 2 cents on the food. First they are known for the pies. We drove 25 miles for the taste of the pies. Well worth it... Be warned the pies goes quickly. If you want a particular pie, pecan, apple or cherry. YOU MUST call a day ahead of time to be sure to get it.

Anyway now the lunch. We had the special of the day a beef stroganoff and a simple grilled hotdog
.
They allowed us to sample before we ordered.
My wifey who is very picky really like it. BUT then she is from Brasil. They have a condiment which looks and taste like sand :-(   . So ... I liked it. It was not full of flavor but being in the heart of Florida this is consider exoctic cusine. LOL.  My grilled hotdog hit the spot and was tasty....They do a hearty breakfast and a busy lunch time crowd .

So if in Labelle get a pie get a good meal.

Denny's, Just a plain chain place

Here is my 2 cents. After  another year with the club I got a free meal. Pancakes eggs and bacon.
We also tried the California club sandwich.
I must say this was very good. Avocado, turkey toast etc.

I did notice the bacon is sliced very thin and they give you small eggs. Pancakes were fluffy. Except for portion it was good.
My waitress did a very good job. BUT the host was terrible.. You could tell he did not want to be there. No smile just going thru the motions.
Over all it is just a cookie cutter place that tourist with no adventure or imagination frequent. Typical of floridians.

Mccarthy BBQ, if there was a heaven for carnivores this is it

This is the BEST place for Ribs and Chicken. That all they do. CASH ONLY. One table and take out.
NO sign. On the corner. Seek with your nose. Served with white bread on paper plate or aluminum foil. Plain, mild or hot sauce. The quintessential  HOLE IN THE WALL JOINT!!!
Half slab of ribs 18.00 full slab 25.00..
When you eat  this fall off the bone meaty ribs, If there was a heaven this is the place for carnivores..

Cracker Barrel, Good basic southern food

Here is my 2 cents on the food and some chit chat. Well if you are looking for a hearty breakfast here you go.  French toast, eggs done well, meats are tasty, coffee is hot and refilled. John, our server, did a great job. For a breakfast fare this is a good place. Just note most locations are next to or near a major highway easy to get to. This place does the trick to fill the belly and satisfied the taste buds.

Twin Peaks, Loud bar, good pot roast

Here is some chit chat and my 2 cents on the food....Well folks after reading other reviews , I did not have high hopes for this place.  But I got a free meal because of my birthday. ( signed up with the e club). I was given a choice of pretty much anything on the menu. A full entree. This is better than most others. Others only give you a appetizer or dessert plus you must buy something.

So I went here on a friday at 1130 AM.  Most places are empty.  WOW the parking lot was full and there was a short line. I was truly amazed. ......I was seated quickly. My server was Taylor.

A note...this is a MAN's sports bar, 72 TV's, lots of beer, All of the servers are young hard bodies sexxy wenches. Taylor I must say was an outstanding waitress. I was expecting a dumbo BUT got someone just under a Einstein.
She was smart, quick and attentive. Actually one of the better servers that I have encounter since writing my reviews.

Now the food. I did a bit of research and decided on the pot roast.
I was again dumbfounded.  This was delish. There was potatoes & carrots. ....Green beans with a crunch, cooked with some bacon on the side. The beef was  fork tender. Melted in your mouth. Except for my Mom and my own recipe very good stuff.
The place was very noisy with older rock'n roll music and folks trying to talk above it.
But over all a good experience and good food.
